Penelope is a pure-bred Mi-Ki from a reputable breeder. She is 9 years old and about 6 pounds. Penelope loves to cuddle and get belly rubs and will immediately want you to pick her up if you sit on the couch. She'll also crawl on a lap if you sit on the floor! She gets super excited when her family comes home. She's very loving and smart, and she responded well to a trainer. Penelope has anxiety and will bite if she's angry or scared, though she's missing many of her teeth (despite daily brushing). However, she's been doing pretty well on gabapentin pills and seems less reactive. She takes meds to prevent vomiting and will sometImes spit up stomach acid if she drinks water too quickly. She needs the area around her eyes to be kept clean. She's been having crystals in her urine tests, so she will need an X-ray soon to see if there's a problem. The vet told me it's important that she drinks water. She will go to the potty on disposable pads or outside, but she will have accidents.

He is cute as can be and is very sweet with his foster mom. He loves to play and engage with the other dogs. However, he has had several failed adoptions- his personality completely changes when being left with new people, and he needs time to settle in- and that means resisting to try to cuddle the cute small fluffy dog. He’s got a big personality, and he is clear with communication, that he needs time and space. We are looking for an adopter who can follow direction or has previous experience with a behaviorally challenging dog. We think once he feels comfortable, he will shine just like he does with his foster mom.

Hi everyone my name is Titan and I'm a Lhasa Apso/ Shihtzu mix who is about 2.5 years old! I'm a lap dog at 17 pounds which is perfect since I love to sit on the couch and cuddle. Despite coming from a place that wasn't very nice to me, I have been a great canine companion in my foster home. I get along with my 5 foster siblings who range from small to large. I don't like to admit favorites, but I do tend to like hanging out with ladies is the best!  I would be best in a home with a fenced yard so I can run around and possibly a sibling to show me the ropes! I have however been doing great with leash training and enjoy a good stroll. I have also met all kinds of people and am very friendly!  If I could have a patient yet structured owner that would be fantastic! You see I am a good boy and all, but without structure and rules I will see what I can get away with.  Since we have had him here at TOH,we believe there must have been trauma with a crate  He hates Everything about it and will need someone that can trust him home without the crate. Sadie is a pure-bred Mi-Ki (videos of the breed are available online), and I adopted her from a reputable breeder. She is about 12 years old, weighs about 4 pounds, and is extremely sweet and gentle. She's very calm and has zero aggression in her. She pretty much just lays around all day. She loves to sit on my shoulder and rest her head over the couch. She has a heart condition that is monitored with a yearly echocardiogram. She also has a chiari malformation but does not seem overly affected by it. She takes a few medications that are easy to administer once per day. It's important to know that Sadie was trained to use potty pads for the first 9 years of her life, and a dog trainer told me that there's no way to undo that training. Any carpet or rug on the ground, or a place that used to have a potty pad, she will go to the bathroom. However, she does know that she is supposed to "do your business" when we go outside. The problem is between trips outside.
