I’m a senior with health challenges & need a new home for my 8.5 year old Maltese/ShihTzu, Patch. He’s very smart, knows 20+ tricks, very sweet & cute, 20 lbs, fun, loves outdoors, loving but not a cuddler. He has allergies & needs meds & a no beef or cream diet. He can be stubborn & needs strong loving discipline & routine. He has some medical issues due to allergies that I am simply unable to manage. His shots are up to date but due soon. He is very friendly with people & other small dogs. I will provide his kennel, blankets, toys, leftover food/treats/meds, & misc. I want someone who will love him & provide a good home. He will flourish & be loving & loyal.

I got this dog because my ex-boyfriend took them on when he couldn’t care for them. Now he is in jail and I cannot care for him the way he needs. He does get a medicated bath. He is also on allergy medicine but I can give you the rest of the meds I have for him which will last a while. He’s a really cuddly sweet boy who loves being with his owners can adapt to any situation as long as someone loves him.

Story
Louie is a male Zuchon (teddy bear dog) from a small breeder in Weatherford. He weighs 29 lbs and is 11 years old, in excellent health. Life expectancy is 15-20 years. He’s a lover and a cuddler. He prefers to lie next to you, and goes with you when you move around… he’s a little shadow. He will “sit-stay” but not indefinitely. He sits on command and heels. These little dogs self-exercise, although he doesn’t as much now that he’s a bit older. He’s extremely intelligent and understands numerous instructions and is obedient. He alerts on the doorbell, then becomes the welcoming committee. Two negatives: (1) As a small male dog, he will occasionally mark in the house, but typically he will alert when he needs to go out. (2) When he is stepped on, he will bite. He has never bitten me, but we have small grandchildren who have been bitten when they have landed on him hopping down from a bar stool. Now we have another grand baby on the way, so this is the reason we need to rehome him.
