Story
If you've ever wanted to know what it would be like to live with a tiny retired beauty queen who still believes she's the main character, allow us to introduce you to Mopsey Topsey. This little girl is equal parts doll, comedian, socialite, and diva. One minute she's carrying around a toy like the happiest dog on earth, the next she's giving you a look that says she's not impressed with your life choices. Mopsey has enough personality packed into her 12 lb body to entertain an entire household, and honestly, we wouldn't have her any other way. Watch her video and prepare to fall in love with this tiny firecracker: https://youtu.be/AEwQxgF0MIM?si=tKzwjmK6Hz5xYds0 Mopsey Topsey is approximately 8 years old, though she may be a little older, if you ask Mopsey, however, age is nothing more than a suggestion. This girl still has plenty of pep in her step, lots of opinions, and enough spunk to keep everyone around her laughing. We believe she may be a Shih Tzu mix, but with rescue it's always a mystery and we can never guarantee breed or age. What we can guarantee is that she's absolutely adorable and looks like a little living doll. The best thing about Mopsey is hands down her personality. She is fun, lively, goofy, affectionate, and just the right amount of sassy. She has that special talent of making ordinary moments feel more entertaining simply because she's involved. Whether she's trotting around the house, carrying a toy, demanding attention, or making her opinions known, Mopsey keeps life interesting. One of the things we love most about Mopsey is that she truly embraces life. She doesn't seem to know she's considered a senior. She approaches every day with enthusiasm, curiosity, and a healthy dose of confidence. She's proof that getting older doesn't mean slowing down. It just means you've had more time to perfect your craft, and Mopsey has absolutely perfected the art of being adorable. Speaking of toys, this girl loves them. Stuffy toys are her favorite and she is more than happy entertaining herself with a toy while also making sure everyone knows how much fun she's having. She's playful, silly, and genuinely seems to enjoy life. Mopsey is crate trained, potty trained, and has already mastered the basics of home life. She's well past the puppy chaos stage but still has plenty of personality and energy left to share with her future family. Mopsey is dog friendly and has done well with dogs both her size and dogs several times larger than her. That said, Mopsey very much has her own personality and her own ideas about how social interactions should go. She may decide she wants to play one minute and then decide she's done the next. She likes being the one in charge of the social calendar and appreciates dogs that don't take life too seriously. Because of this, she'd do best with easygoing dogs that can laugh off a little diva behavior and aren't bothered by her occasionally changing her mind. She enjoys canine company but certainly doesn't need another dog in the home to be happy. Mopsey also met our house cat Biggie and met him appropriately and was very respectful around him. She did not chase Biggie, nor was she bothered by Biggie jumping or doing what cats do. Biggie also felt comfortable around her as well. We do not know if she has ever lived in a home before with a cat and this was our first time seeing her with a cat. If you have a cat in the home, we can arrange for her to have a sleepover with a cat upon request. Just let us know! We think Mopsey would thrive with someone who appreciates a dog with character. Not a robot. Not a dog that fades into the background. A dog that makes you laugh, keeps you company, and occasionally reminds everyone that she is, in fact, the queen of the household. If you're looking for a little dog with a big personality, a playful spirit, and enough charm to completely take over your heart, Mopsey might just be your girl. We are willing to test Mopsey Topsey with anything you need in order to ensure it's a perfect match. We can make anything happen! Just let us know. Ready to welcome a new furry friend into your life? Story
Diggie looks like someone shrunk Chewbacca down into an 11 lb bestie with tiny paws and a perfect button nose. Freshly groomed he is adorable, but when that scruffy grey coat grows out? Full rescue-muppet magic! Estimated to be about 4 years old, Diggie is a Shih Tzu mix with a playful side, a sensitive heart, and a very strong attachment to his people. Rescue rules apply, so breed and age are our best guess. Go watch Diggie Doodlebug on YouTube then come right back to read more about this shaggy little sweetheart. https://youtu.be/4uY3QypwIAY Diggie is currently fostered in a loving home where his foster describes him as playful, lovable, extremely smart, and full of personality once comfortable. He loves toys, enjoys digging dramatically through dog beds, and bonds deeply with his people. He especially loves kids and would truly thrive in a home with children. He also lives with cats successfully and can do well with calm, easygoing dogs after slow introductions. Once comfortable he is a bouncy, playful boy. The day we met Diggie he was in an unfamiliar environment with a heap of new people, not ideal for his sensitive nature but even while stressed he remained incredibly soft-tempered and never once reacted roughly. Once he trusts someone, though, his foster shares that he can handle a busy lifestyle and genuinely enjoys going places with her. Diggie is not currently leash trained but continues to practice with his foster, so a home with a secure yard would make life much easier for him while he continues building up his leash confidence. Crates are also stressful for him and his foster does not currently use one but shares that he is trustworthy in the home and has not been a necessity. This little guy is not an instant “life of the party” dog. He is a relationship-first dog. But for someone willing to let him settle in at his own pace, there is a really funny, loving, toy-obsessed little companion underneath that fluffy grey fur. Ready to welcome Diggie home? Story
Toby is a 8-month-old shihtzu mix that is just as cute as can be. This little guy was an owner surrender to our rescue to no fault of his own. Unfortunately, the owners live in an apartment and had over the max of animals allowed when they were told they would get evicted or they need to get back to the number of animals allowed. Toby is full of life, energy and happiness. He is an active that boy loves to run around and explore all over. He LOVES children and would do great with kids! They can exhaust each other running around and playing. Toby is the type of dog that wants to go on adventures and explore the world with you. He will be your most loyal sidekick and best buddy to travel with. If you’re wanting a shadow, Toby is your guy. He is house and crate trained but he does NOT like his crate. He would rather be out running free and with his people. We do believe he could have slight separation anxiety, so someone home more often than not, or other dogs for him to play with to keep him busy is a must for Toby. Toby is an escape artist – we put him in an outside enclosure just temporarily, and within seconds he was climbing the wire and getting over the 6-foot-tall wire enclosure and jumping down. He can not be left alone in a backyard at any time, so please be aware of this so if you are wanting to adopt him, you can accommodate this for him. Toby wants to sleep in bed with you and cuddle next to you on the couch when he is not running around and playing with his toys. This boy is all around awesome. He is friendly, energetic, loving, gentle, playful and is waiting impatiently for his forever home. Toby is neutered, heart worm negative, current on age-appropriate vaccinations, current on flea/tick and heart worm prevention, dewormed, microchipped and will receive a clean bill of health from a veterinarian prior to adoption. To apply to adopt you can go to our website at: www.pawsitive-Impact-animal-rescue.org PLEASE NOTE: This animal is currently located in Texas, but we do NOT adopt animals out in Texas due to the hundreds of animals being euthanized here daily. We do adopt in Central US and the East Coast. The adoption fee listed ($745) INCLUDES transport from Texas to the location where this animal is posted in. Transport goes to the following locations every 2-3 weeks: Port Chester, NY Albany, NY and Latham, NY Wells, VT and Brattleboro, VT Willington, CT New Haven, CT and Dayville, CT Dayton, OH and Akron, OH Grove City, PA and Bloomsburg, PA Ridgefield, NJ and Mt Laurel, NJ White Marsh, MD and Elkton, MD Falls Church, VA We have happily adopted hundreds of animals this way (long distance), and we do our best to make sure the animal you are applying for is best fit for your home.

Story
Buffy is a 13-year-old Shih Tzu with the heart of a teddy bear and the soul of a professional napper. Buffy came to us in 2023 after her beloved owner entered hospice care. Buffy is truly a love bug. She adores people, loves being a lap dog, and would happily spend her days snoozing beside you or curled up in bed at night. She gets along wonderfully with cats, dogs, and small children making her an easy addition to most homes. She’s calm, affectionate, and happiest when she’s close to her humans. Over the years, we worked hard to solve Buffy’s allergy issues and finally discovered she is allergic to grass, lamb, and coconut. Thankfully, she is now doing great on medication and her adopter will receive a full year supply of Zenrelia to help keep her comfortable. Buffy is also an absolute professional at taking her medicine especially if cheese or a pill pocket is involved. Buffy does have some special needs that come with being a senior lady. She is visually impaired and has limited depth perception, which means she can accidentally tumble off beds or couches if left unattended. She also doesn’t love having her face groomed or her eyes cleaned, though she behaves beautifully for the rest of her spa day. Buffy is also hard of hearing… selectively, of course. She may ignore loud noises during nap time, but somehow can still hear a snack bag from another room. Speaking of snacks....if food exists anywhere nearby, Buffy firmly believes she deserves some too. Her nose is fully operational and always on duty. Buffy is fully housetrained and does best going outside every 6 hours during the day, though she happily sleeps through the night. She is looking for a loving home that understands senior dogs deserve comfort, patience, and lots of soft places to nap. If you’re searching for a sweet, loyal companion who will fill your home with love, snuggles, and a little bit of comedy, Buffy may be your perfect match. PLEASE READ THIS TO ADOPT: ***ALL ANIMALS ARE CURRENTLY IN LONG BEACH, MISSISSIPPI.*** We transport adopted animals every 2-3 weeks to Northeast states.  Completed applications take precedence over inquiries. If you are interested in adopting, the FIRST step is to complete an application.  We will discuss additional details with potential adopters once we have an application on file.  For Pet's Sake Rescue is a Mississippi based rescue. We are located in an overpopulated area surrounded by high-kill shelters. Adoption fees include transport, vetting and a MS Health Certificate to travel. Story
Buddy Edward is a middle-aged dude with a beer gut - we are working on his weight! He is the happiest, fattest, little Shih Tzu 'around' - he snorts like a bulldog and waddles! He came to rescue at 18 lbs and has been told by our Vet his bloodwork looks great, but his weight is a concern and obesity will cause problems. His foster has him on a diet, special kibble and only one meal a day. Buddy has curly white and tan fur. He had bald spots due to skin infections which have grown back. Due to breed - in addition to exercise, will require extensive grooming! Regular trips to the Salon *Rescue does not complete DNA testing. Breed is based on documentation provided from the original owner and Vet clinic who saw him prior to rescue. Buddy is fostered with cats, small dogs and big dogs. He loves attention and sitting on his foster mom's lap. He is leash trained and potty trained. Loves car rides and 'going anywhere. This breed has a Life Expectancy is 10-15 years. We are seeking a committed family for this piglet. Buddy came to rescue with two dog siblings after his elderly owners could not afford to care for them and taken to a small shelter. The Animal Control Officer contacted CCR and requested help - the dogs were neglected, dirty and not housetrained. They were clearly loved but owners started to struggle to care for themselves and the pets. Buddy has more housetraining than his younger dog friends. Buddy is now up to date on vaccines, dewormed for gut health, microchipped and neutered. He tested negative for heartworms and is on prevention. FOSTERED IN TEXAS. *Adoption Fee ($550.00) includes transport options to PNW (WA, UT, ID), Midwest (MN, WI, MI, OH, IL, IN) or select New England States (NY-NJ-CT-VA-VT) by pet transport partners. Due to Buster's size - he is eligible for travel with Southwest Airlines (Houston to any major airport approved by SWAAT) Canadian adopters must drive to the meet locations in USA. Email to Apply!
