Story
Our super sweet boy Archie is visually impaired. We think he may see shadows, and does have some vision in his right eye (it keeps him from walking into things). He does really well with the impairment and it's difficult to tell he has vision loss! It does not slow him down at ALL! He is a good eater, potty trained and loves to play tug of war with his toys. He is a very loving and sweet boy. He will bark to sound out his environment and may get a little anxious, but just provide him attention and he’s fine. Whoever becomes his forever family needs to know just how special he is and be prepared to be patient to work with him, because he is definitely worth it. Good with children 8 years and older and a fenced yard. (An adoption fee of $500 is required.) If you are interested in this dog, please go to the Adopt page of our website where you will find a link to an adoption application form. https://www.chewdogrescue.org/adopt If you have previously submitted an application form to CHEW, there is no need to reapply. Just let us know you're interested in this dog. We do our best to match families and dogs so everyone is pleased and the placement is permanent. We reserve the right to refuse an applicant if the home situation is incompatible with the needs of the rescue dog. Rescue is about doing our best for the dog. We do home and reference checks. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and are up to date with current vaccinations before being placed in their forever homes.

Story
He loves his walks daily, loves puppy, kittens, picky about large dogs. Like cars rides, going to get the mail. Loves his day bed but sleeps on bed with owner, I use pet stairs for him to get up and down. Groomed every 3 months. Knows several English words, every if you spell them. He was given to us when he was 1 yr, now 12, he base as my husband's dog, my husband passed of cancer, he has really missed him. I have heath issues and can not doing his daily walks, because I broke my femur last year.

This special little guy is RYAN. He is a 1 year old, 12 pound Lhasa Apso/Shih Tzu mix who is simply a loyal lover. He is looking for someone to return his love. RYAN gets along with other dogs. I do not have cats so I am not sure how he would do in a cat home. RYAN was found in a very rural area with GROVER, a 1 year old male Chihuahua. They are best buds but they do not need to be adopted together. It would be nice but not necessary. He is not a barker and does not have an aggressive bone in his body. He was a hot mess of long matted hair when found but he was a true trouper while being groomed. He allowed the groomer to handle him and make him look gorgeous and feel better.
