As she’s grown more confident, Sammy has shown us that clear boundaries and gentle handling are very important to her.Once she knows you and feels secure, Sammy can be incredibly sweet, loyal, and loving. She’s the kind of dog who forms deep bonds and thrives with consistency. Sammy will need behavioral support, ongoing training, and multiple meet-and-greets to ensure a successful match, as well as an adopter who is committed to using positive reinforcement and giving her the time she needs to build trust.If you’re someone who enjoys helping a dog grow and blossom and are open to putting in the work, Sammy could be a truly rewarding companion. Weight: 17lbsMeet Sparky! Sparky is a 5-year-old Chihuahua mix who joined us from a partner shelter. While his background mostly unknown, his paperwork states that he came to them as an owner surrender, so we can assume that he has spent at least some time in a home environment. He has shown himself to be a pretty cool guy who enjoys getting out for walks and does great on a leash. Recently he went on a doggy-day-out with an awesome volunteer. Here is what they had to say about him: `Just a quick update on my DDO with Sparky. He was the best boy!! Calm, super easy in the car, a bit unsure at the beach, seems to not know about the ocean! He was interested in other dogs and children but no barking and did not approach, just observed them with ears up and wagging tail. He was super relaxed after the initial nervousness, very easy going dog.`Sparky is ready to find a home where he can settle in and enjoy the good life with a loving family. Call us to schedule a meet & greet with him! We`re open Tues-Sun 11am-5pm.
