Story
Grizzy is the definition of a sweetheart. This calm, tender boy is happiest in the comfort of a warm lap, where he can soak up affection and offer quiet companionship in return. With his soft eyes and even softer personality, Grizzy has a way of making anyone who meets him feel instantly at ease. He moves through life with the wisdom and gentleness that only a senior dog can bring. No drama, no fuss—just kindness, cuddles, and the peaceful presence of a loyal friend. Grizzy adores being close to his people, whether he’s resting quietly by your side or snoozing contently during a cozy evening in. He’s looking for a loving home where he can enjoy gentle days, soft blankets, and plenty of lap time. In return, Grizzy will give you unwavering companionship and the kind of love that fills a home with warmth. Story
Kennedy is a unique and resilient pup who’s still figuring out how to trust. He’s had a rough start, but underneath his uncertainty is a dog who truly wants love—he just needs patience and the right approach. This guy is house-trained (no accidents here!) and crate-trained, settling in without complaint at night. He also does well in a playpen when left alone for short periods. He loves his toys, especially Nylabones and balls, but can be a little possessive with them. Kennedy enjoys being near his people - he follows them from room to room, wags his tail to show his feelings, and even gives kisses. He may ask for affection by bumping against you or jumping in your lap but then growl or nip when actually petted. Kennedy knows "come" and "sit", but treats (especially chicken!) help him stay engaged. He’s leash-reactive when it comes to putting it on or taking it off, especially around his neck, but once he’s walking, he does well - though 15 minutes is his max before he’s exhausted. He clearly has a history of being fed from the table and will wait at mealtime for a better offer- but don’t fall for it! Kennedy needs an experienced, patient adopter who understands that trust takes time. His ideal home is one where: He can continue learning boundaries in a structured environment, touch and handling are approached with patience and care, he has a predictable routine and a safe space to retreat when needed, and he’s allowed to bond at his own pace - on his terms PLEASE NOTE: All your current pets must be spayed/neutered, vaccinated and on heartworm prevention to adopt from Polka Dogz. Story
Zag is a beige on brown 16lb young man who would love to be found by the perfect home to let his friendship abound. He knows how to sit for treats, and takes the treats easily.  He's not a rush eater either.  While he enjoys being around the people, he also likes having personal space.  He enjoys a nice soft bed and a blanket in his crate so that he can have the personal space and doesnt mind too much when he's got to go in for the night.  He's still working on how to play with toys.  He's got a super chill vibe when he's lounging on the couch with you, and doesnt have to be the center of attention - but will let you know when it's his turn to be in the spotlight.  He likes to take long walks on the leash.  He's not a kisser, and isnt good with a lot of quick motions that are close to him.  Zag is good with other dogs.   PLEASE NOTE: All your current pets must be spayed/neutered, vaccinated and on heartworm prevention to adopt from Polka Dogz.
