Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Our handsome senior cat,  Moustache, is finally ready to find his forever family. He arrived at the shelter at the end of 2021, part of a colony of cats found on an abandoned farm in Saint-Augustin. He was a fearful but non-aggressive cat, who understood the colony's hierarchy well and avoided fights as much as possible. Moustache has worked very hard with the shelter's socialization team, and thanks to their patience and perseverance — they always believed in him — he is finally ready, after all these years, to give the perfect family a chance. It's important to understand that our handsome blue-eyed Siamese mix will need time to adjust to his new family. They shouldn't expect cuddles right away, and won't be able to pick him up at first. Moustache is a reserved gentleman who goes completely wild when he plays! He has soft, gorgeous fur, and watching him run is truly a sight to see — something he sometimes does, as he startles easily. But this summer, he started enjoying pets, and he's now so comfortable with it that he can be quite demanding about it (which is really fun to see, since it shows just how far he's come!). He's also pretty vocal: he often makes little "mmrrrhhh" sounds, both to us and to other cats! Moustache could do very well in a family with another sociable cat: that way, he could observe and take his time settling into his new life, while the family gets their cuddle fix from their other, more affectionate cat. He could also live as the only cat in the household, as long as his family understands he may never become a lap cat. At 10 and a half years old, his future family will need to be patient and welcome him just as he is, respecting his pace. Moustache is a senior cat, and his adoption fee is $175$. He is sterilized, vaccinated, microchipped, and has tested negative for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) and Feline Leukemia (FeLV). Six weeks of pet insurance are included with his adoption. You will also have access to support from our adoption team for as long as needed, as well as a free 30-minute video consultation within the first month after adoption with our feline behavior consultant, FelineGood https://www.felinegood.ca To have a chance to adopt him, please fill out our adoption directly on our website:   https://www.reseausecoursanimal.org/contacts/adoption-form/  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 2, 2026, 5:52 pm
