Story
Lizzy is a dainty little beauty with a big story and an even bigger heart. At just 7 pounds, this elegant Singapura kitty carries herself like a tiny queen, but behind her graceful charm is a girl who has been through more than her fair share.
Lizzy & her sister Tizzy came to Whiskers after their beloved elderly owner passed away. Sadly, Tizzy lost a battle with large cell lymphoma while still in foster care, leaving Lizzy to navigate a lot of change and loss in a short time. Because of everything she’s been through, Lizzy is looking for a patient, attentive home where she can truly settle in.
Liz also has some medical needs that require a little extra attention. She takes a daily pill and eats a prescription dry food, and after months of trying different options, we’ve finally found a wet bisque-style food she enjoys! She needs a family committed to keeping her at a healthy weight and sticking with foods that support her overall health and help avoid increased inflammation. Keeping her comfortable and feeling her best will take some extra care, but this little girl is worth it!
Lizzy may enjoy having a cat-savvy dog friends, as long as they respect her space (and don’t steal her food). She is okay with calm, gentle pups who give her room to breathe. Because she has been front declawed and has had all of her remaining teeth removed, she relies on her humans and animal companions to be kind and gentle. She can’t defend herself, so a respectful, low-stress environment is essential.
When she’s comfortable, Lizzy’s sweet personality shines. She loves heated beds, interactive toys, laser pointers, and wand toys. She’s a biscuit-making expert and has a soft spot for cozy adventures under the covers. She also likes playing with hair and hair ties (when supervised). Lizzy has also shown that she has a taste for supervised outdoor adventures like yard time, garden exploration, backpacking, and even bike rides!… with some practice.
Lizzy is looking for a compassionate home that understands her sensitive nature and is willing to give her the extra care she deserves. In return, she’ll offer quiet companionship, gentle affection, and the kind of bond that only comes from giving a second chance to a truly special cat.
