Hoggle is an estimated 812 month old Shih Tzu mix who arrived at the shelter as a stray after being found wandering down a quiet country road with his companions, Ludo and Bowie. While their journey left him a bit tangled up, it certainly didnt dampen his sweet spirit! Right now, Hoggles coat is matted and in need of some TLC, but underneath is a darling little guy whos ready to shine. Despite everything, hes in wonderful spirits; curious, friendly, and so happy to be safe. His bright eyes and wagging tail show just how much love he has to give. At his young age, Hoggle is still very much a puppy at heart. Hell likely thrive in a home ready to help him learn, grow, and blossom into the confident companion hes meant to be. With a good grooming, some patience, and plenty of affection, this little Shih Tzu mix will transform both inside and out. Story
Beatrice is a sweet, friendly dog who was found wandering alone along a highway. Because she was a stray, everything about her is a mystery. We don't know what breed mix she is but she does play well with the small dogs here at the shelter. We think she is about 3-4 years old and Shih Tzu mix.  We can't say for sure if she was potty trained in her prior life, so a refresher may be necessary.  Not sure if she has been used to being around cats or children, so older kids may be the safest way to go.   She weighs 11 lbs under all that matted fur (we took care of that, so now that it's short, it can grow back beautifully!) She’s an affectionate little girl who enjoys human companionship and greets everyone with a wagging tail. Beatrice’s gentle nature and positive spirit make her an absolute joy to be around.  Her $350 adoption fee helps cover her spay surgery, vaccinations, and microchipping; everything she needs to start her next chapter healthy and happy. Knox came in to the shelter in very bad condition on the outside, but on the inside, this love-bug has a heart of gold. Even in the horrible condition of his fur, he had kisses for the staff and wanted to be held. He came in with another female who was also in bad condition. We immediately took him to the groomer and had all the hair stripped off. You can see in the "before" picture how bad he was. He and the female (Indie) seem very bonded and may be related, so we will try to adopt them together if possible. He had been seen wandering through parking lots in Stockton for a week before arriving, so we do not know where he was living before here. New owner should be prepared to work on house manners in case he hasn't had any prior training. The vet estimates he is between 1 and 3, so we settled on 2. Dog will need regular grooming in the future. $350.00 adoption will help us with the grooming, vaccinations, microchipping and neuter. Let's get this good boy a much better home.
