Story
Meet Hops.  His short life already has a long history starting as a stray turned into a local shelter with his bonded friend a year ago. The person that found them came back and adopted both but life changed.  They REHOMED his friend and Hops found himself back at the shelter again.  He was adopted a second time only to be returned a few weeks later,  Surely his third placement left him confused. He got out, was turned into the shelter and what was to be his third adopter left him there.  When placed for the 4th time Hops was scared, confused and unsure. He saw an open gate after an hour and ran.  Over the next 20 days he went from OB to Pt Loma, Mission Hills and was finally trapped on Harbor Dr across from the Airport.  This guy was going to define flight risk literally.    He is now in foster and looking to make his final landing.  After decompressing his personality is starting to shine.  He is a LOVER and soooo sweet. He is dog neutral.  He prefers women to men but embraces unconditional love from any patient and kind presence.  He is great on leash.  He does have some anxious energy to work through (understandable since the last year has involved being separated from his bonded brother, 4 shelter stays and 3+ homes).  He has lived with a cat but was not a fan.  He’s only just over 2.5 years old:(. Let’s get him home.    Scottish or Skye terrier mix. Because of my Flight Risk I cannot be left unattended in a yard, crated is a must when you are gone, tight grip on the leash at all times while on adventures and my new family must be aware of open doors and windows.  Off leash activities are not safe for me.  Will you be my dream and final destination? ##1993559##

Story
Age: 8 years old Gender: Male Breed: Shih Tzu mix Weight: 24 lbs Personality: Yuki is wary of strangers but will warm up to people with a bit of chicken and patience on the human's side. Yuki is a mellow guy who loves to nap next to you and lounge in the sun. Yuki is content to sleep the day away near his person but is also up for playing with stuffed animals and fetching! Yuki does well on leash but is quick to warn you that strangers are nearby. He has some barrier frustration, but is generally very easy going once he has warmed up to you. He loves going for car rides and is a great passenger, although drive thru cashiers may be startled at his sudden alerting. Yuki does well with other dogs. He is polite enough to leave old grumpy dogs alone but will play with young energetic pups. He does not resource guard his person, but does show some food guarding tendencies. It would be safest to feed separately. Needs a home with no children or older children who will treat him with respect and give him space as needed. If you have some chicken and just two days of patience, you will be rewarded with so much love. Yuki is an easy dog, he is crate trained, potty trained, and walks well on leash. He is generally a gentle, mellow guy with great house manners. He has a case of stranger danger, but can be redirected when he is reacting. Yuki loves hanging out with his human, but does well when left alone. He will sleep until you return and greet you wholeheartedly. Yuki takes a little bit to warm up to his person, but once you earn his trust, you will find that no one else will look at you with as much love in their eyes as Yuki.  Education: Good with bathroom and leash training Favorite Activities: Napping, cuddling, chewing tags and eyeballs off stuffed animals, fetch, sun bathing. He's also extremely dog friendly Looking for: A sweet person or family who can give him space, be patient with him and respect/ advocate for his boundaries while he learns to trust humans. Ideally older and respectful kids are ok, and so are dogs. Adoption Fee: $ 350 ##1592807##

Story
Akahi has been a part of the family for over 15 years. He has another partner dog and a kitten he currently lives with. He spends his days in the room where his family is at that time lying on one of his many house beds. He loves to sun bathe in the mornings, enjoys car rides from the safety of a pet basket where he can see out the window. He's been on multiple drives to and from Arizona and sleeps most of the time. He's in his senior years now where the easy going life is more ideal for him rather than our fast paced life which isn't able to cater to his needs. We are unfortunately moving in May and need to re home him, as we have already done with his partner dog and kitten just recently. The new home we found is in our budget but does not allow for any pets. He's a great addition to anyone that works from home and just wants a warm body around - he perfectly fits this mold. He's low, low, low maintenance and knows dinner time is at 4pm.
