Story
Meet Oakley 🐾 Oakley is an approximately 10-month-old, 10-pound Shih Tzu mix who was found behind a dumpster back in January. The poor kid could barely move due to so many sand spurs stuck in his matted fur. Grooming and fleas were addressed quickly, and when no owner was found, it was time to get this boy ready for his FUREVER HOME. Vaccinated, neutered, dangling dew claws addressed, baby teeth that didn’t fall out removed while under, and chipped — this kid is ready for his next and final chapter. Because Oakley struggles a bit with separation anxiety and still needs work with leash training, apartment living wouldn’t be ideal (your neighbors would agree 😉). A secure yard would give him a safe place to practice, build confidence, and reduce the risk of him bolting when he’s feeling unsure. Oakley needs someone who is ready to help him become a more confident kid with patience, training, and consistency. He is already making progress and will shine as a little adventure buddy with the right person(s). Oakley believes his job is to alert and protect — no one can walk back into the room (after just walking out) without Oakley announcing it. He can also be a bit mouthy, so a home with small children may not be the most ideal. Once he connects with you, you’ll have a little love sponge who will adore you and want to be your constant shadow. Oakley is currently living with multiple other small dogs and does okay with them, although his first interactions can be a little in-your-face and snarky. Looking for an Adventure Buddy to bond with, teach trust, and seize each day with? So is Oakley!! 📍 Adoption radius: 150 miles from Jacksonville, FL 🏡 Other pets must be vaccinated, spayed/neutered & on heartworm prevention 📝 Apply here: https://www.shelterluv.com/embed/animal/PPFL-A-4052

Story
Elsa is a 2 year old, 7 lb, white Shih Tzu-terrier mix. She is spayed, heartworm negative, and up to date on her vaccines and monthly preventatives. Check out Elsa's full profile before submitting an application, this snow queen has specific requirements: https://www.fawnssmalldogrescue.org/adoptable-dogs/elsa Elsa is the last dog from the January 2025 hoarding situation. As the least socialized, Elsa's anxiety and timid nature made it hard for her to trust that humans wanted to care for her. After a lot of love, patience, and hard work from our fosters - Elsa is now medicated and thriving! She no longer hides behind her foster siblings and started actively play and engage with them. It is truly a joy to see! Like many dogs with her background, Elsa prefers to be a pack dog. She's been doing well with house and potty training. She will follow the other dogs and go potty outside in the yard. Elsa is continuing to come out of her shell. Her ideal home has patient and loving adopters with a pack of two or more similarly sized dogs, some of whom around her age. She requires a home with at least two dogs who like play. Elsa must have a securely fenced yard, she needs a tall fence that she can't slip out of or climb over. She needs an adult only home. She does fine with cats, she mostly ignored her prior foster kitty sibling.
