Story
Griffin was discovered as a stray dog wandering the roads of Paju, Korea last fall. Thankfully, a compassionate individual reported him as an abandoned dog, saving him from the threat of euthanasia. Griffin was fortunate enough to find a foster home where he spent four months before being transferred back to a boarding house. During his time with the foster family, he enjoyed the love and attention he received from his caregivers. He loves to snuggle; he especially enjoys sitting on people’s laps. In general, he is quiet indoors and very well-behaved. He learned basic commands and etiquette quickly. When encountering unfamiliar individuals, he may bark initially. A home with many family members or frequent visitors would not be the best fit for Griffin. He would thrive in a quiet home environment. Griffin loves going for walks with his human and that is his favorite thing. When it comes to other dogs, he is mostly indifferent. But when he meets dogs he likes, he really enjoys playing with them. However, one minor issue arose during Griffin's stay with the foster family. He became incredibly fond of their daughter, leading him to display protectiveness and wariness towards other family members, occasionally growling and snapping. Regarding his health, Griffin had a lump on the inside of his left thigh, which required surgical removal. He has made a full recovery and is now in good health, ready to find his forever home. An ideal family for Griffin would be a calm, child-free environment with responsible and knowledgeable dog owners familiar with the unique personality traits of the Maltese breed. It is crucial that the family can provide proper training and guidance, assuming a leadership role for Griffin's well-being. Ideally, the family would either be retired or work from home, enabling them to dedicate ample time to their furry companion. The adoption fee for Griffin is $560. ---------------------------- Griffin is a 7yr old male Maltese. 6kg Neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. For more info, please follopw the link below. Story
Meet Big Tony! This 13 pound, approx 10 year old, mixed breed Elder does not need a big house, just a big world. He likes to be out in it. A yard is not a must, but 2 walks a day a least, every day is required for this guy as he loves and needs his mind and body exercise. We never really know the true age of our adult dogs, but we do know Tony is an active Senior! Big T loves his donut bed, and snuggles on the big people bed. Couch time is great too, but he'll needs help up & down (doggie steps are great for him).  Tony would love a home where he is allowed everywhere. He also would love a doggie buddy. He is learning / trying to play. He may even snuggle with another dog if possible! He likes attention, but shares nicely. He does need some space to eat his food. He's not keen on sharing his dinner, and who really is!  Big Tony i s fantastic. He is loving and smart. He listens and learns, and he is food motivated! Tony loves a walk, loves his friends ( dog and human, still figuring out the rabbit in his foster's home), loves to snuggle, loves to explore and he loves a good run in the park.  He prefers to do his bizness in someone else's yard so make sure you've got your poopy bags handy!  He loves meeting new people, but can be cautious at first. When Big T arrived at the shelter he needed his eye removed and his jaw was a bit unstable.  He had some rotten teeth removed when at the vet for his eye surgery, and his jaw is doing much better now. He also came with us with skin issues, but we are working with getting him healthy with good nutrition and its working.   He is house trained, that said Big T needs a consistent routine and frequent outdoor visits like any Senior does! Once Big Tony knows you're his person he will follow you everywhere.  He's great when out and about as he's the perfect walking companion. Big T has  made many new friends here in Portland with his wonderful personality and his handsome looks.   Slow approaches are helpful as he does have limited sight, but once he's comfortable, he's Mister Social.  Big Tony is   a really happy little guy who's ready to find his forever home! Btw, he is a big Harry Styles fan, so that helps if you are too. ;) Every Underdog has been spayed/neutered, micro-chipped, and is up to date on vaccinations. All dogs have had a recent visit to the vet as well.  Adoption fee is $280.00. Big Tony is also part of our Elders of Underdogs Program.  For Seniors over 62, his adoption fee is $125! We offer a 10% discount for veterans and students. All of our dogs are in foster homes. We have an adoption application, we check references and visit your home as part of our adoption process.   To fill out our Adoption Application please visit our website: www.underdogsrock.org/adoption-application/ To Learn more about Underdogs Rock!
