Story
Please read the entire bio for this rescue, it will provide all the information that one needs to decide if they would like to apply to adopt from SCMR.Adoption fee: $125.00   Crouton is about 13 years old and weigh 17 pounds, he is a very sweet and loving fella, he is almost totally deaf, but he can hear and respond to very loud noises.  Crouton has a lot of health issues, so he will need a home that is willing to see him through any flareups and be okay with the cost.  He is partially housetrained, and may need to wear belly bands (male diapers), he tolerates them well, they need to be changed many times a day.  A person can choose to not use them if they want, but he will lift his leg and mark.  A supply of the belly bands and pads will be provided at the time of adoption, that will be enough to last a week or more.   He enjoys to go outside, so his ideal home would be to have a nice and safe fenced yard for him to enjoy.  He was diagnosed with an intestinal disease, but he is doing great now, and the flareup seems to have passed.  He also has had ear infections, so his doctor recommends a maintenance medicine to help this, a couple of drops every few days.  He does not care for that very much, but he will let let the drops be put in both ears.   He is also prone to skin infections, so it would be crucial to make sure he is dry if a person chooses to use belly bands.   He has cysts on his shoulder and just below his ear, his doctors feel confidant they are benign, and because of his age and health, and that there are so many, we are not having them removed.   He recently had a dental, poor guy lost 15 teeth, he is healing nicely from that, we also did have one growth removed, it was an odd skin growth that was hanging about 4 inches down from his chest.  We opted to removed that one, because of it's location and that it could possibly get caught on something and possibly hurt him.   Crouton does have a bit of separation anxiety, and will get into thing, like trashcans, and will try to chew shoes, cardboard...he is not choosy!   Crouton is waiting for his forever home in Gainesville, FL.   Adoption fee: $125.00 Out-of-state adoptions are possible; however, the approved adoptive home is responsible for making the necessary arrangements to pick up their new little one.  To be considered to adopt me, please fill out an APPLICATION.  NOTE: SCMR does not adopt to homes with children under the age of 10 years or homes with Electric Fences. Story
Please read the entire bio for this rescue, it will provide all the information that one needs to decide if they would like to apply to adopt from SCMR.Sadie   Adoption fee:  $600.00   Update: Sadie had liver shunt surgery at the University of Tennessee Wed., Nov. 19th. We were fortunate that Dr. Karen Tobias performed the surgery. And Sadie did great! She just had her 2 week check up and passed with flying colors. Plus she's up to 8 pounds now! She's full of vinegar and ready for a wonderful, normal life! A devoted family of her own would make this Christmas - her first Christmas - her best! Just remember-Because Sadie is so young, we must invoke our Seniors for Seniors policy: applicants 70 and older will not be considered for dogs 7 and under. We encourage these applicants to look at our seniors who still have a lot of love to give. Seniors for seniors, it's a natural match up!     Sadie is  blur of activity. It is recommended that there be another small dog in the home for Sadie to play with. At 6 months old, this Shiz Tzu/Poodle mix is still learning house manners. She's around 6 pounds now and loves to cuddle, play with other dogs and chew on fingers. Paper too...got a paper shredder here! She's a loving baby and knows no strangers. She tends to come when called so I think she recognizes her name. This little ink spot is just too cute for words!   Sadie was born with a liver shunt. She's scheduled for surgery Nov. 18th at the University of Tennessee vet school. This surgery will be in excess of $4000.00. We will reserve Sadie and waive her fee for anyone who will contribute a major portion or all of her surgical expenses as long as they meet our adoption criteria.    Because Sadie is so young, we must invoke our Seniors for Seniors policy: applicants 70 and older will not be considered for dogs 7 and under. We encourage these applicants to look at our seniors who still have a lot of love to give.
