Meet Poppy 🌸 — 14 pounds of fluff, feelings, and fetch obsession. At just one year old, Poppy is equal parts playful goofball and soft-hearted little soul. She came from a puppy mill, so the world is still a lot sometimes—but give her a minute (and maybe toss a ball her way), and you’ll see her personality bloom. Poppy LOVES other dogs and would be happiest with a confident canine buddy to show her the ropes. She plays hard—like “full send, no brakes” kind of fun—so she’d do best with dogs her size or bigger who can keep up with her enthusiasm. Tiny dogs need not apply… unless they enjoy being lovingly bulldozed during zoomies. She’s great with kids, crate trained, and working on her house manners like a champ. Leash walking is still a “we’re figuring it out together” situation, but she’s trying—and having a dog friend to lead the way would help her feel more confident. Poppy is a quiet girl overall, saving her voice mostly for when a new person enters her home (someone’s gotta announce it, right?). She may be shy at first, but underneath that cautious start is a deeply loving, loyal little dog who bonds hard and loves even harder. Her hobbies include: • Playing fetch like it’s an Olympic sport • Following her dog friends everywhere • Being brave in small, beautiful ways • Quietly stealing your heart when you least expect it Poppy doesn’t need perfection—she just needs someone patient, kind, and maybe already owned by a friendly dog who can show her that life is actually pretty great. Meet the cutest little guy around! He is a compact ball of love and we call him our "Walmart Greeter". Carson's person died a couple of years ago and he is needing a new home. Carson is a happy little guy who loves everyone and gets along great with other dogs. Carson is playful, housebroken, snuggly, likes to play with toys and would love a family to call his own again. This little guy is part Shih Tzu part.... Bassett?? A short, stocky little man for sure. Don't let those little legs fool you though, he likes to run and play with the big dogs. Carson is housebroken, so the hard work is done for you! He is an adult with a lot of life left! Let him snuggle up to you and you can heal his little heart.   Meet our charming Shih Tzu mix boy named  Sir Ziggy — a young Shih Tzu (mostly Shih Tzu) with a wonderfully playful spirit and a personality that is hard not to fall in love with.  At about 12–15 months old and 13 pounds, Ziggy is the perfect combination of small size and big personality. He is full of energy and absolutely loves interacting with his person. Playing, wrestling, being scooped up and flipped upside down, or simply getting some one-on-one attention — Ziggy is happiest when he is included. He has a wonderfully silly side, and when the zoomies begin, watching him race and bounce around is pure entertainment.   Ziggy genuinely enjoys other dogs and is eager to make friends. Sometimes his enthusiasm gets the better of him, and he needs a little help understanding that not every dog is quite as excited about playtime as he is. He responds well to guidance and will benefit from someone who can give him appropriate boundaries while still appreciating his exuberant personality. One of the sweetest things about Ziggy is his outlook on life. My goodness is this boy a happy, resilient little guy who doesn't seem to hold a grudge or get discouraged when another dog isn't interested in playing. He simply moves on and finds something else to enjoy. There is a genuine sweetness underneath all that puppy energy. (We could all take a cue on this attitude)  :-)   Ziggy is in good health and is up to date on wellness care, testing, preventatives, and vaccines.   He is looking for a home that will appreciate his enthusiasm for life while helping him continue to learn and mature. A youngish adopter that is 55 and younger might be just what this boy needs. We want him to have consistent boundaries, patience, play, and plenty of affection will go a long way with this boy.   Ziggy isn't looking for a perfect life — just a person who will enjoy his goofy antics, appreciate his affectionate nature, and give him the guidance he needs to grow into the wonderful little companion we know he can be.   If you're looking for a fun-loving little dog who will keep you smiling and happily be your partner in play, Ziggy might just be your guy. ❤️ Please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com if you are interested!!!   ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED.
