Story
Meet Max DOB: December 16, 2023 Weight: 30 lbs Breed: Terrier Mix Neutered (Fixed) Vaccinated Microchipped Healthy & Adoption-Ready Personality, Breed Info & Expectations Max is a loving, social boy with a fun personality and a heart full of loyalty. At 2.5 years old, he has the perfect balance of youthful energy and growing maturity. He enjoys companionship, interaction, and being part of everyday life with his people. Max is friendly, affectionate, and enjoys spending time with both humans and canine friends. He thrives when included in family life and loves connection, activity, and companionship. He gets along well with dogs and people but would do best in a home without cats. As a Terrier mix, Max may show traits such as intelligence, curiosity, playful energy, and a strong connection to his people. Terrier mixes are known for being active, engaging dogs who thrive with companionship, structure, and regular activity. Max would do best in a loving home where he can enjoy exercise, routine, interaction, and inclusion as part of the family. Training, Adjustment & What to Expect Many rescue dogs come from very different backgrounds. Some may have previously lived in homes, while others may have come from the streets, overcrowded shelters, neglect situations, or environments where they had little structure or guidance. Because of this, most rescue dogs arrive with only basic training at best, and some may have had no formal training at all. Even dogs who appear well-behaved in foster care or at the rescue are still adjusting and learning. The rescue environment itself also does not always allow for extensive one-on-one training. While we work hard to provide safety, structure, socialization, and basic guidance, adopters should be prepared to continue training and support after adoption. Max will benefit from: Positive reinforcement training Structure and routine Patience and consistency during adjustment Continued socialization and engagement Please remember the 3-3-3 Rule: 3 days to decompress 3 weeks to learn your routine 3 months to fully feel at home With time, patience, and commitment, rescue dogs often blossom into incredibly loyal companions. Owner Responsibilities & Veterinary Care Owning a dog is a lifelong commitment that includes daily exercise, companionship, routine veterinary care, training, mental stimulation, and financial responsibility. Max will need: Daily exercise and interaction Continued training and guidance Routine wellness exams and preventative veterinary care A safe, stable, indoor living environment Consistent veterinary care, proper nutrition, preventative care, and emotional stability are all essential to helping him live a healthy and happy life. Max is an indoor family dog and is not to be chained or left outside.
