Story
Bailey is one Chill Dude! He is a big Velcro Dog. He pretty much just wants to sleep most of the day, as long as he knows where you are but loves a nice long walk too. He is great on leash, no pulling or reactivity. He is the epitome of a gentle giant. He loves his foster's Cal King bed. She said she probably should not have let him get on it BUT the lure of having a huge snuggle bunny in bed at night, was just too tempting. Now he is in heaven and rarely leaves the bed. Bailey came from the Stockton Shelter, he had a large mass on his spleen, and an enlarged prostate with 2 very large testicles swinging around. We were able to raise $5,000 to get all of his medical done - splenectomy, neuter and ears cleaned and treated) and now he is just perfect. Tumor was benign so he is ready to be your life size snuggle bunny, if you are ready. We have noticed slight resource guarding with human food (reason he should not be in the kitchen) and high value treats but it is not very bad and we are working on it using "trade up" or not allowing him to have items he feels he needs to guard. As far as other dogs, he really does not care about them. Same with cats, just sorta looks at them and then goes about his business. BUT, that does not mean there is no prey drive. We will be testing him. As far as children go, we have not had him around any of those yet, but will. I suspect he treats them just like everything else, checks it out and then moves on his way. He does have a special need. We are pretty sure he is deaf. While he was under for his operation they cleaned out his ears and treated them but he still does not really hear much. Might be why he is so chill. We will have the ears looked at next to see if there is anything more needed for him. He is ready for new foster home or adoption. We are willing to do a Foster to Adopt or just a foster if you are interested. We need him to get more interaction with other stimuli, the home he is in now is very quiet. Story
Hi there, I`m Barnaby! I`ve spent my years learning the fine art of friendship. I`m a sweet soul, always ready with a gentle nuzzle to brighten your day. I`m quite the smart cookie too, loyal to those I love. Despite being heartworm positive, my spirit remains unbroken, and I`ve got lots of love to give. I`m just waiting for someone who wants a mellow companion to share quiet moments and warm smiles. Adopting me means gaining a faithful friend who will cherish every moment with you. I do like other mellow dogs, but would appreciate being the one and only.

Story
Big, handsome Samson, with a friendly, happy temperament. He has gone on day trips and to adoption events and has been praised by all as a very good boy!DAY TRIP REPORT:He was SUCH a good boy for us.He was a pro in the car...hopped right into the back seat and was happiest when he had his head right between us for scratches and attention. We walked around downtown Davis and UCD campus and he loved getting all the sniffs in. He is definitely strong, but is such a good walker. He was a very happy slobber monster on the way back.CAR SHOW/ADOPTION EVENT:He was a big attention grabber and had a lot of people coming up to say hello and learn about him.He was so gentle and calm around kids, didn't react to loud noises from the cars, and overall seemed so happy and content.OFFICE VISIT REPORT (see photos below):Samson is like a big Teddy bear who is sweet and friendly. We loved having him at the office and think he would be a great addition to any one's family.Only four-years-old, this big guy needs love and space. If you have it to give, please make an appointment at yoloshelter.org/dogs, or email adopt@yoloshelter.org.October 5, 2026, 5:08 am
