Others have to take the scenic route. Lizzy is one of those dogs. Lizzy is a 6-month-old, 32-pound Labradoodle who has already been through more in her short life than any puppy should have to experience. She first came to RCHS as a tiny 6-week-old puppy. Back then, we named her Storm. And that little girl certainly had a storm to weather. ï¸ Not long after arriving, Lizzy came down with parvo. She was incredibly sick, and we weren't sure what the future would hold. But this little fighter wasn't ready to give up. She fought her way through it and survived. â¤ï¸ Eventually, Lizzy found a family and was adopted. We hoped that was the happy ending she'd been waiting for. But sometimes life doesn't go according to plan. Due to family medical issues, Lizzy was returned to RCHS. Through absolutely no fault of her own, she found herself back where her story began. And now we're determined that Storm's story becomes Lizzy's happily-ever-after. She's still just a puppy. She still has so much growing, learning, playing, and loving to do. She deserves a family who will make her their forever commitment—a family who won't give up when life gets difficult and who will show her what it truly means to be home. Lizzy has already proven she's a fighter. She survived parvo. She survived losing her first family. And she's still here, still loving, and still waiting for her person. â¤ï¸ We can't change what Lizzy has been through, but we CAN help change what happens next. She doesn't need another temporary chapter. She needs THE ONE. The family who will look at this beautiful girl and say, “You're home.
