Story
Intake Date: 26 February 2024 -------- Age at Intake: 1.5 yrs ----- Breed: Poodle Mix ----- Size: 45 lbs ----- Status: Hoarding situation ----- Compatible with: Dogs, cats, calmer children ----- Suitable for: home with a fenced yard. No exceptions ----- Medical/Behavioral Needs: Undersocialized, requires regular grooming ----- Additional Notes: Welcome Pria! A stunning little beauty that was part of the 26 dog hoarding and neglect case. What we have learned so far is that she loves to eat. Has no idea that she is to go outside to go potty so she will need housetraining. She doesn't understand the leash and will need leash training as well. And she likes to chew and ripped up her bed already and every potty pad she gets so we are working on teaching her what to chew. She is quite shy but not aggressive or snappy. She will require regular grooming and coat maintenance to ensure it never gets to the condition it was in when she was brought to rescue. She will likely thrive in a calm home. An adopter will have to be very willing to understand and accept that she is not a "typical" dog but that that is not an excuse not to challenge her and expose to her to new things so that she can learn to navigate her emotions and responses. The only way for a dog to blossom is to not put them in a box and prevent them from encountering anything uncomfortable or that makes them uneasy. She deserves a family that will help her GROW and develop and get more and more confident, not shelter her. Knowing that is going to take time and a lot of consistent work. And she deserves to feel safe and confident in the world. The work is worth it! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If interested in meeting and potentially adopting please read the adoption requirements and complete the adoption application located at forbellessake.org. Once processed and approved a meet and greet can be scheduled and if a match an adoption is finalized at that time. Adoption fee is $175 and all dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and treated for any known medical needs. Breeds are not guaranteed but often a best guess. Housetraining is not guaranteed but crate training is worked on with all residents. If a yard is present, a secure fence is prioritized.

Story
Intake Date: 26 February 2024 -------- Age at Intake: 2 yrs ----- Breed: Poodle Mix ----- Size: 65 lbs ----- Status: Hoarding situation ----- Compatible with: Dogs, cats and children ----- Suitable for: home with a fenced yard. No exceptions ----- Medical/Behavioral Needs: shy, requires regular grooming ----- Additional Notes: Welcome Logan! A stunning little beauty that was part of the 26 dog hoarding and neglect case. What we have learned so far is that he is thoroughly enjoying his new hair cut. Has no idea that he is to go outside to go potty so he will need housetraining. He did pick up the dog door quickly but still occasionally goes indoors. He didn't understand the leash at all but had made great progress there too. He is quite shy but not aggressive or snappy. He will require regular grooming and coat maintenance to ensure it never gets to the condition it was in when he was brought to rescue. He will likely thrive in a home and ideally, would love to be adopted with Emerson. They seem to be very close. He also is fed in a slow feeder bowl because he eats so quickly that he will choke or vomit. Typical for hoarding dogs. An adopter will have to be very willing to understand and accept that he is not a "typical" dog but that that is not an excuse not to challenge him and expose to him to new things so that he can learn to navigate his emotions and responses.
