Story
This girl was found with a wound in her forehead. It has been treated by a vet. She is a nice girl who has done well following commands. She does well on a leash and likes to be with people. She may be house trained, but we don’t think fully. Curly Sue has been nervous since she arrived at the shelter, so we haven't had her in with other dogs. However, when she is roaming the hall of the kennel, she likes to go up to sniff and say hello to dogs all of sizes and ages. January 20, 2026, 2:58 pm

Story
This dog is in Tennessee. Adoption Donation $250 if picked up in TN, $325 plus transport fee for out-of-state adoptions. Hattie is a sweet, affectionate girl who just wants to be close to her people and follow their lead. This one-year-old Doodle mix weighs 57 pounds and has a playful, loving personality that shines once she feels secure and included. She is a people pleaser at heart and thrives with patience, guidance, and lots of attention. Hattie is a fast learner who already knows sit, place, and stay, and she is making great progress with house training when let out regularly. She settles well in her crate and enjoys routines that help her feel safe and confident. She loves squishy, squeaky toys and is happiest when she can cuddle up close, offering hugs and soaking up affection. She does great with other dogs and cats and truly enjoys having animal companions around. Hattie walks nicely on a leash and loves car rides, making her an easy partner for outings and everyday adventures. She does startle easily at times, and because she is missing an eye that is still healing and can cause occasional discomfort, she may give a brief warning growl if surprised. With patience, consistency, and understanding, she continues to build confidence and trust. Hattie would do best in a home where someone is around often and actively involved in her care, ideally with another friendly dog for companionship. She is not a dog who wants to be alone for long periods and will thrive in a home that values closeness, routine, and gentle guidance. If you think Hattie could be the loving, loyal companion your home is missing, please contact us for more information.    Interested in adopting? THIS PET IS FOSTERED IN TENNESSEE! We do list and adopt our pets nationwide. Typical transport cost to the Northeast is $180. Due to interstate adoption regulations, we are not able to adopt to RI and MA state residents. A.A.R.F. (All About Rescue and Fixin' Inc.) http://aarf-tn.com/ is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) no kill animal rescue organization located in the Upper Cumberland area of Tennessee. A.A.R.F. is comprised of unpaid volunteers and survives only on public donations. Thank you for thinking adoption first! Prior to adoption, all canines and felines are spayed or neutered, have received their age appropriate vaccinations, have been de-wormed for common parasites, and have received treatment for prevention of fleas and ticks. All canines over the age of 6 months have been tested for heartworm. All canines are put on heartworm prevention as soon as possible - this means dogs as soon as they are tested negative. Puppies are put on prevention immediately. All felines, regardless of age, have been tested for Feline Leukemia/FIV. Each animal receives a health check by a licensed veterinarian prior to adoption. Anything else found will be treated by our organization prior to adoption. January 22, 2026, 10:18 am
