Story
Addison-female-spayed-1 1/2 years-43 pounds. Hello…. I am Addison. I am about 1 ½ years old and am looking for a happy ending to a rocky start. I am from a situation where I was found alone in an abandoned house. I was taken to a shelter that was very full. Thankfully, nice people from CCHS arranged for me to come to CCHS. I was so scared, in pain, and very shut down. It turns out that I had a broken hip. Thankfully, through generous donations from CCHS supporters, I was able to undergo surgery to fix my hip. I can now run, jump and play like other dogs! Out of habit I still stand with one foot hovering above the ground, which my foster mom says looks silly, but seems normal to me. I have been in foster care for about 3 months where I have been able to heal physically, learn to trust, and find my personality. I have been lucky to have a doggy foster sister who has helped me become more comfortable with new and unfamiliar things. As for my personality.....I am very laid back when indoors and love to nap and cuddle. I sit on my foster parent’s bed for hours watching deer, squirrels, turkeys, and the neighbor dogs. I like to play with and chew up dog toys. I think it is fun to steal socks, shoes, and slippers, but I don’t chew them up. When outside, I am playful and so busy that I don’t hear when I am being called. Because of this, it is probably best if I am in a fenced area or kept on a long line. I absolutely love the snow and am so glad I live in Wisconsin!I understand potty is done outside. I sleep on a dog bed next to my foster sister and my foster parent’s bed, and sometimes I sneak up to snuggle with them during the night. I don’t mind car rides, but am still a bit nervous about where I am being taken. I love going for walks and do well on a leash. I am a friendly gal, and have liked every man, woman, child and dog I have met. I have been introduced to 1 cat, and while it looked interesting I did not engage. I like my scruffy look and hide when my foster mom tries to brush me. Eventually I give in as it seems important to her. I share my food with my foster sister and treats are nice, but I don’t get all excited about them like she does. I only bark when someone approaches the house, or when someone or another dog plays chase with me…. which is a game, I am very fond of! Again, a good reason to keep me in a fenced area or on a long line as I am very good at the game of chase. I sound

Adoption Fee: $650We are a Wisconsin state licensed dog rescue -WI# 402433   ***We do not have a central adoption center at this time. All our dogs are in private foster homes within WI. At this time, we only place our dogs in areas of WI. The breed of our dogs is our best guess with the help of our veterinarians. Our Weight Classes are as follows: 0- 25lbs - Small 26- 45lbs - Medium 46-89 - Large 90+ X-large If you are adopting an adult dog, which we consider 6 months of age or older, your adoption fee includes the following: Spay/Neuter, Rabies and Distemper shots, dewormed, flea & tick preventative, heartworm tested and microchipped. If you are adopting a dog younger than 6 months of age, the dog will be up to date on the shots as per the dogs age. The dog will be dewormed, flea/tick preventative and microchipped. We only spay/neuter our dogs once they're at least 6 months old. If you decide to adopt a younger dog than 6 months, they will need to be spayed/neutered by your veterinarian when they are between 6 to 8 months old. Proof that the spay/neuter has been completed will need to be submitted to Tailwaggers911. Once proof of the spay/neuter has been received, we will refund $100 of your adoption fee via Venmo, PayPal or have a check in the mail within 15 days. Once you are approved with our rescue, you can meet any one of our dogs within the fosters home. If you are interested in the dog you met, you can take the dog home under our mandatory foster to adopt program. You receive 5 days to see if the dog is the right fit for your home. If it is, we will conduct the home visit and finalize adoption. If it is not, it is returned to the foster. We are happy to find you another dog that meets your needs in your home. If a dog is listed as ADOPTION IN PROCESS, a family has met the dog and planning on adopting the dog after the home visit has been conducted. We always suggest sending in an application for a dog because there are times where the dogs are given back to us under the foster to adopt program. There are many reasons dogs are returned but normally it just was not the right fit for all. Please go to WWW.TAILWAGGERS911.COM under HOW TO ADOPT . We have an online application that is very easy to fill out. January 14, 2026, 8:58 pm

Check out our Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok for more pictures & videos of our adoptable dogs!Updated: 1/15/2026 Dog Name: Anakin Sex: Male Estimated Breed: Poodle Mix Approximate Age: 8 months Approximate Weight: 40 lbs Spay/Neuter Status: Neutered Description: Despite his rough start, Anakin is an incredibly fun, happy, and goofy older puppy with a big personality and an even bigger heart! He is full of playful puppy energy and absolutely loves to run. Zoomies are a daily event! He’s very energetic but because he’s still growing, he doesn’t always realize how big he is yet. He’s currently learning not to jump up on people and would do best with older kids or adopters who understand that while he’s not tiny, he is still very much a puppy who’s still learning.   This sweet boy has done wonderfully meeting new people and truly loves everyone he meets. He’s extremely affectionate and craves human connection! Anakin loves to crawl into your lap, give kisses, nuzzle for attention, and be right by your side. Chin scratches, cuddling, walks, and treats are some of his favorite things!   Anakin is incredibly smart and very food motivated, which makes training a breeze! He learned sit, lay down, and place in about five minutes! He is housebroken, working on crate training, and is fantastic on walks when using a front-clip harness.    Anakin would thrive with an active, affectionate family who is ready to continue his training and provide structure, patience, and plenty of adventures! He has so much potential and just wants a family who will love him and continue to guide him in everyday life! Story
About Me: Name: Waverly Breed (or best guess): Poodle (Moyen sized) Approximate Age: 6 yr Gender: Female Approximate Weight: 23 lb Adoption Fee: $495 Requirements: Patient family, fenced yard Why In Rescue: puppy mill survivor Profile:   Waverly came from a commercial breeder/puppy farmer who was no longer going to use her for breeding.  She is a little shy but okay with being handled.  She needs work on walking on a leash, so needs a fenced yard for her safety .  She gets along with other dogs, but will likely do fine as an only dog as well.  She is quiet when kenneled alone, but when she shares a kennel run with other dogs she tends to bark.  If you have the patience to help her learn about living the good life as a loved pet, she may be the perfect girl for you! Dogs from commercial breeders are generally undersocialized (often very scared/shy/skittish) and probably never lived in a house.  They will need to learn things like how to walk on a leash, go up stairs, and what things like a television are.  They need a patient adopter who will give them the time they need to adjust and to learn to trust people.  Every baby step forward needs to be celebrated, and the dog needs to be accepted for who they are at each step.  Some dogs can adjust quickly and learn how to be a loved pet pretty easily.  Others can take a long time to even be comfortable with things like walking through the house and being in the same room as a person.  No matter how far and how fast the breeder dogs progress, they are wonderful dogs and deserve a great home after their life on the puppy farm.  A fence or at least a secure fenced in potty area is highly recommended for the dog's safety, and may be required for some dogs.  Another small dog in the house can also help many former breeders adjust faster to life in a home, and also may be required in some cases.  We do put the needs of the dog's first, so it is nothing personal if we determine a particular dog isn't suitable for your specific home and living situation. If considering adopting a former breeding dog, the following article is good to read to help you understand the special needs these dogs may have.  http://nowisconsinpuppymills.com/mill-survivors.html If interested in adoption, the first step is filling out the pre-adoption application at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog  If link isn't clickable, please copy/paste or visit http://www.bichonrescues.com.  Please note, filling out inquiry forms on Petfinder or Adoptapet and/or their application forms does not constitute an application for one of our dogs.  Priority in responding to inquires and applications is always to the applications filled out on our website, time constraints limit the number of other inquires we can reply to. We do our best to evaluate the dogs while they are with us, but they sometimes act different in the shelter environment than they do in a home.  Many times we do not know the actual breed/mix or age of the dog, in that case we use our best guess as to breed and age.   We are located in Mukwonago, WI.  Adopters must come to us, we do not ship our dogs.  Please do not apply for a dog until you are ready to adopt.  Once an application is approved you will be notified by email to make an appointment to meet the dog.  All dogs are seen by appointment only. The adoption fee through Bichon and Little Buddies Rescue is $495 for most adults and up to $650 for puppies which includes Wi State Sales Tax.  Included in this fee is your new companion who will be spayed/neutered, have a current Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (as required by state law), current on age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm tested (if old enough) and started on preventative, microchipped, and given a general wormer.  Other medical needs will also have been taken care of, such as dentals and treating ear infections.  To assist you and your new pet in adjusting to life together, you may chose to take an 8 week age appropriate obedience training course at For Pet's Sake Dog Training in Mukwonago, WI for $100 (up to $260 value).  You may opt to take Puppy Kindergarten, Adult Beginners, or Small Dogs Big Hearts.  You must register for the class within 90 days of adoption for the reduced fee.  For more information on the classes visit www.forpetssake.cc  More important information: ***We are a Wisconsin based rescue and do not ship our pets.  If you are considering adoption you must be willing to drive to meet and adopt the pet, as well as bring the pet back to us if the adoption doesn't work.  We adopt primarily in WI and IL, but will consider applicants in MN, IA, and MI.*** ***Please do not set up an appointment to meet the animals until you are ready to take your pet home.  If the meeting results in a match, you can often take the dog/cat home the same day or within a couple days if the medical care hasn't been completed.  We are not able to hold pets for adopters beyond this time.  Thanks for understanding.*** ***While we hope all of our adoptions lead to permanent homes for the animals we place, sometimes things just don't work out.  We do have a 30 day trial period.  For the first 30 days, if you or Bichon and Little Buddies decide that the adoption isn't a good match for either the humans or the pet, the adoption fee will be refunded minus $100 within 30 days of the return of the dog.  Bichon and Little Buddies also requires adopters to return the pet to us at any time that they are unable or unwilling to care for the animal anymore.*** ***We do not show dogs without an appointment.  The first step in adoption is filling out the pre-adoption application at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog  Please do not call/email until AFTER you have filled out an application.*** Bichon and Little Buddies is a State Licensed Rescue # 268555-DS December 14, 2025, 6:59 pm
