Story
Bonnie is an all-around happy girl! Bonnie loves to meet new people and other dogs; she has never met a stranger, and thinks everyone is her new best friend. So watch out; she thinks every lap is meant for her! Bonnie is a small gal with a lot of love to give!!   Another dog to play with is exactly what Bonnie is looking for!! A fenced yard would be an added bonus but not a neccessity.  Bonnie would love to be in a home with an active family where she could be outside a lot. She would really like a 5ft+ solid fenced yard to run. Bonnie is house trained but not a fan of a crate. She is much happier sleeping with her people at night.   She doesn't really fancy playing around with toys, and would rather be curled up on the sofa beside you; that makes her very happy. Bonnie would love someone who works from home/home most of the time, so she could be the center of attention. She does have some separation anxiety, so even more reason to take her with you! Plus, when you are out and about, she is good on a leash and well behaved. She will definitely turn a lot of heads, because she is super cute!   She does have a bit of a wild side and loves to use her voice when she is excited. She wouldn't be a perfect fit for apartment or condo for these reasons. Bonnie loves to ride in the car and would love to go with you on a trip!  She would make a great camping/hiking buddy as she loves to exercise.   We don't know how little Bonnie is around cats as she hasn't had an opportunity to meet them. She is good with children but will need to be in a home with older children due to size/energy/playfulness.   As part of Bonnie’s $300 adoption fee, she is spayed, microchipped, up to date on  vaccines, and current on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet little girl, you can email  Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Bonnie, you can fill in an online application for her under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. ##1950570##

Story
Scruffy is a 2-year-old Airedale Terrier X Golden Retriever mix (Embark DNA tested) who arrived at the shelter as a stray and was never claimed and then made his way to Freedom Ride to find his forever family. This exuberant fellow is very much a puppy in a 50 lb body. Scuffy is a young and happy guy who loves to play, play, play and live his life to the fullest. Every walk is a new adventure and every new person is someone to greet. We are working on calm greetings as well as leash manners. Although Scruffy knows some basic commands, he is very much in need of some manners and has no hesitation in jumping up and using his paws on his human pals to let them know he is around. While Airedale Terrier is most definitely a unique and rare breed in this area, we do encourage potential adopters to do some research on the breed to make sure Scruffy is the right fit for your home. Because of Scuffy's size and exuberance (and minor resource guarding with his favorite toys), we think he would do best in a family without small children. Scruffy has a big personality and will keep his forever family constantly entertained with his fun, fun, fun outlook on life.
