Story
Please Sponsor Me:  I Am Not Available For Adoption.  I am a 16 year old cocker boy and a life time haven dog here at the rescue due to heart health issues.  I am Not Adoptable,.......but I sure would like it if you could donate to help with my care and vet needs.  Any size donation is greatly appreciated,  Thank you for your kindness! My name is Putnam, but these folks call me Putt Putt.  I am a small, blonde 16 plus year old cocker boy. One New Year's Day, I was lost and wondering the roads until I was picked up as a stray in West Virginia by Animal Control. Because no owner showed up to claim me and I am older, the shelter asked for rescue help to get me updated on needed vet care and a good home. A nice adopter/volunteer living in WV agreed to pick me up.  She drove me to meet up with the rescue owners' husband and he brought me here. I am heartworm negative, kind of shy and just a real sweet guy. I am pretty well house trained, but my heart health issues will not get better. On my initial vet visit I came to rescue loaded with fleas, I had anemia and needed to be groomed. These issues were taken care of and I had to have some dental work done too. Since I cannot be adopted out, you can help with my vet needs by sending a donation in my name to: CCR, P.O. Box 1050, Kannapolis, NC  28081.   A donation of any amount is tax deductible, very appreciated and I thank you for caring enough to help me to have a comfortable life for however long I have left. I would have been a wonderful companion for someone to adopt and love but my heart issues have gotten worse and now there is nothing they can do to make it any better.  Please donate today to help this rescue with my care. Send donation to:  CCR, P.O. Box 1050, Kannapolis, NC  28081 and put my name on it so that they will know it is for me. Donations Needed and Appreciated: This sweet cocker boy has come to rescue and needs a major dental with teeth removal. He is a senior, so he will need fluids and antibiotics. Please help CCR to pay his vet bills, we need to raise $300 to $400 dollars for his vet care. My name is Putnam, but these folks call me Put Put. I am a small, blonde 10 year old cocker boy. Story
Please Donate to help us care for Honey. We will not be taking applications until all of her needs are met, and she can go to a forever home. You can send a check to CCR, P.O. Box 1050, Kannapolis, NC 28081 or by PayPal to larrydonnacarp@aol.com. This dog was in pretty bad shape. Please be patient with us and give us time to get the necessary vet care done to help her feel better. She will need a lot of Angel donations to help with vet costs. Your kindness is appreciated. Meet Honey, she is an older cocker girl from an owner who no longer wanted her. She never had much love or attention and was mostly kept outside. We were told by this other rescue that she was 7 to 8, but our vet says she is closer to 12 or 13 years old. She has Cushing's disease and will need medicine, so we have scheduled an appointment to get the necessary tests done. Bloodwork was done and shows signs of early kidney disease, but meds are not needed right now. Having severe dental disease, she had to have some teeth removed, she had growths behind both ears, ear infections and she had a tumor. Each of these issues have been addressed and cost us $1600. The plus is that she tested as heartworm negative and no tick disease. Please donate today, we need your help to get this sweet lady the rest of the vet care she deserves. Honey is learning how to be an inside dog and is doing pretty good with house training. She came to us quite confused with numerous health issues that have been expensive and we aren't done yet. She is a happy girl and very sweet, but you can tell she is just now learning the real meaning of kindness. Love and attention is something she isn't used to, but she is doing well and is thriving. She enjoys being a cared for dog. Please donate today to her care. Your kindness is greatly appreciated. Yes, she is older, but she deserves proper care, someone to love her and a lot of kindness in a home for however long she has left. Please be one of her Angels and donate to her vet care as shown above. Any amount will help and thank you for caring! When all vet care is done her adoption fee will be $100.00

No Phone Calls. If you are interested in adopting this young Cocker Spaniel boy, please fill out an application by going to charlottecockerrescue.org to download and save our application. Fill it out and email it back to us to be approved. We will review it and return calls. We are now taking applications. He has had his vet care done plus his cherry eye fixed. He needs to be your only dog; no young kids and you must have a fenced yard. Meet Rufus. He is a black Cocker Spaniel boy, 11 months to 1 and a half years old. He is an abandoned stray that came to rescue after roaming the streets for quite a while. Numerous people kept seeing him and finally caught him. He was not micro-chipped, had numerous ticks, was filthy dirty and badly matted. Rufus is people friendly, loves attention, did well at the vet and is a friendly guy. He is learning to interact with the rescue dogs and has done well with them so far, but he is not good with unknown dogs. He had his cherry eye fixed, a dental and is now neutered. He came here horribly matted, scared and reactive to dogs and fast-moving hands. He is friendly, sits well, wags his tail and is a good boy. He needs to be a house dog and your only dog. No small kids but 10 and older okay. No apartments or condos. He must be kept in a secure fenced backyard where he will always need to be monitored. A patient owner who can help him to thrive as he grows up and take him for some dog training is highly suggested. Invisible fencing is not a good idea as he gets scared easily. He is a youngster, so he will need your help with house training and what is expected in a new home environment. His reaction trigger to unknown dogs probably started when he got loose, became a roaming stray and had to fend for himself. Now, he needs to gain confidence and re-assurance to be the good dog we feel he can become. Please give him the chance he deserves to have a loving home. His adoption fee is $500.00.
