Hi! My name is Dutchie, and I’m a 9-year-old Heeler/Pointer mix looking for my forever home. ❤️ I’m a super friendly guy who is great with kids and other dogs, and I can happily coexist with cats. I currently have 4 cat siblings, they’re okay, but I prefer to give them their space. I may be an “older man,” but I still have plenty of pep in my step! I love ear scratches, lounging around the house, and finding a cozy spot for a good nap. Sometimes you’ll even find me curled up under a bed, happily snoring away the day. I know basic commands like sit, stay, down and shake. I'm 100% house trained and won't chew up your furniture or shoes. I’m okay on a leash, although I can be a little enthusiastic and pull. I’m not looking for a super-active lifestyle, I’d much rather relax at home, hang out on the porch, and be your loyal companion. If you’re looking for a laid-back buddy to share your days (and maybe some salmon and sweet potatoes!), I might be your perfect match. 🐾❤️

Our family purchased Rio when she was a puppy. She was born on a ranch in Floresville, TX. She grew up around my 3 kids. She is playful and loveable. She has been around other dogs and grew beside our one other adult dog. Rio is about 4 years old. She is a sweet girl who would enjoy being around a family, doing whatever activities you do together (bbq’ing, relaxing, making s’mores etc.) Unfortunately we can’t keep her anymore because of a change of family dynamics (and change of location) but I’d love for her to be loved by someone caring.

Since we are mixed with Shepherd, Border Collie, Terrier etc we will enjoy daily walks, dog training and suitable toys/bones. Due to our exercise needs and being vocal we will not do well in apartments, but a house with a fenced yard is best.
