Story

Nala is a gentle, loving dog with a beautiful brindle coat of caramel and ebony stripes that caught everyone’s eye. But more than her looks, it is her kindness that stands out. She takes treats softly as if saying “thank you” with every nibble. On walks, she stays by your side, moving at your speed, happy to enjoy the world at her own calm pace. Her favorite thing is sniffing around during her walks, discovering new smells, and savoring the moment. Nala was abandoned and has been waiting in a cold, lonely kennel for a family to find her for almost two years. She didn’t bark or jump for attention. Instead, she sat quietly, gently wagging her tail as if to say, “I’m here and ready to love you.” At night, she curled up on her thin blanket, dreaming of a home where she could finally feel safe and loved. Nala wasn’t just waiting for someone to notice her coat; she was waiting for someone to see her kind heart and give her the love she had been saving all this time. **Note: Ohoh is currently in Korea, but he will fly to San Francisco once adopted. Background Ohoh’s life hasn’t been easy. As a tiny puppy, he was found wandering in an apartment complex in Wanju, Korea. He was sent to a city pound, where he spent the next five years chained in a poor shelter with little comfort or care. This summer, Ohoh finally came to us and has been living at our boarding house, where he is safe and loved while waiting for his forever family. Personality & Socialization Ohoh is a gentle, sweet, and loyal boy with a calm, easygoing nature. He has medium energy, happy to go for walks and spend time with people, but also content to relax quietly by your side. He’s very friendly with people, both men and women, and loves being close to his humans. When it comes to other dogs, Ohoh gets along well with gentle, friendly, and well-mannered dogs. He does not do well with overly bossy, dominant, or hyper dogs. Behaviour Ohoh is well-behaved, obedient, and very smart. He bonds strongly with people and follows their lead easily. He rides calmly in the car, tolerates bath time, and is cooperative at the vet. He walks nicely on a leash, enjoys outdoor potty breaks, and is quiet indoors. We’ve rarely heard him bark. With a little training, Ohoh will blossom into a wonderful lifelong companion. Health & Diet Ohoh is neutered, microchipped, and fully up to date on his vaccines. He is dewormed and on monthly parasite prevention. When first rescued, he was treated for anaplasmosis, and he has since made a full recovery. He’s in good health and ready for his forever home. Ohoh eats dry kibble twice a day and has shown no allergies. Ideal Home Ohoh will thrive with a family looking for a calm, gentle, and loyal companion. He gets along well with other gentle, quiet, and well-mannered dogs, but he would be happiest as the only dog in a calm home. A quiet, relaxed lifestyle where he can soak up love and attention from his humans would be perfect for him. Ohoh is an easygoing and affectionate boy who simply wants to be by your side. **Note: Currently, Hana is in Korea, but she will arrive in San Francisco once adopted. Background Hana and her sister, Beosun were rescued from a city pound in Milyang, Korea, this past summer. Since then, she has been living with other dogs at our partner boarding house, learning how to enjoy a safe and happy life. Personality and Socialization Hana has a medium energy level and a very affectionate, social personality. She does well with other dogs, both big and small, as long as they are friendly. With people, Hana is very sweet and loving. Even with strangers, she happily approaches them and asks for pets. She is very friendly, outgoing, and loves human attention. Behaviours Hana is gentle, sweet and listens well. She handles car rides, baths, grooming, and vet visits without much fuss. She loves going for walks with her people and walks nicely by their side. She loves being petted more than anything and likes to stay close to her human. Even though she loves people so much, she stays calm when left alone and has not shown signs of separation anxiety, which has been very impressive. Health and Diet Hana is spayed and up to date on her vaccines. She has been dewormed and is on regular parasite prevention. She eats kibble well and has shown no food sensitivities. When she was rescued, she had Hepatozoon from an infected tick, but she completed her treatment and is now healthy and ready for her forever home. Ideal Home Hana is a sweet, gentle, social, and easygoing girl who will make a wonderful companion. She still has a little learning to do, but her friendly and eager to please nature makes her a joy to guide. She would be a great match for many families looking for a loving companion.
