Story

The goodest boy and big as a couch! Dont let Rock'y's size fool you... he is a good dog. He is intimidating in size, but he is VERY gentle and kind. He has been in foster care with a trainer for a few months and he is getting fabulous report cards! He has respected the five foot fence (though we know he can basically walk over a four foot fence). He is great with crate, leash, walking,grooming, potty trained, does great in the car and calm in the house. He has not been a trouble maker in his new setting and he has wonderful house manners. He has had limited exposure to horses but has done well when introduced. He is NOT good with cats and chickens. He also does not appreciate rude dogs and he will simply not tolerate it. He is good with other dogs if they are well mannered. He is also good with children and new adults if he is introduced properly.      This is a purebred Sarplaninac Shepherd. That breed is rather rare and there was no option for it in AdoptaPets database. He is of good stock but has not been raised aorund livestock. He has changed hands a few times and is currently being surrendered by his owner due to size and need for structure. He has shown a desire to chase chickens and horses and bit the other dog in the house. He is otherwise a good boy and need an experienced home. He is 15 months old and we are taking him to be neutered tomorrow (12/17/2022) If you are interested in this dog, please text our director Aspen at (352)843-6858 for an application.
