Story
Meet Tyg (Tygrys) PLEASE SHARE THIS POST FAR & WIDE. TYG DESERVES HIS HAPPILY EVER AFTER! Poor Tyg will have been at the kennel for 2 years this June. He's a favorite with regular kennel volunteers. Once he gets to know you he's a big 100 lbs loving teddy bear.  Most people don't come to a Golden Retriever rescue looking for an Anatolian Shepherd mix, which is why Tyg is still with us. Anatolians are very protective of their flock and family. If you know anyone with Anatloian Shepherd experience looking for a fantastic dog, please get in touch with GRRAND. .  Sadly, Tyg has been at the GRRAND kennel for over a year. The kennel volunteers recently had a pool party to celebrate Tyg's one-year anniversary at the kennel - he got to swim, eat doggie cake, and of course, get dressed up! Tyg is a 5-year-old Anatolian Shepherd/Belgian Malinois mix who came to GRRAND in 2019 as a 3-month-old puppy. He was adopted by a couple who sadly had to return him in June 2023 due to unforeseen circumstances. He was so sad and would sit by the fence looking for his people to return. He is now settled at the kennel and is certainly a volunteer favorite! Once he decides you are okay, you will be his best bud - but it takes him a while to warm up to new people. He will try and squeeze his 100+ lb body on a chair with you for hugs and kisses. The volunteers love to dress him up and he never complains; the perfect model! He loves the pool and gets to go for a swim every day in the summer. He is very well trained on the leash and loves to go for walks, but he does have a tendency to lunge at large trucks and vans so he needs a strong hand to keep him under control. Tyg is a special boy. He is extremely sweet, loyal and protective of his people. We believe it's best for Tyg to go to a home with an experienced dog owner, no other pets and no children, ideally with a large fenced yard he can patrol, and few outside visitors. Please open your heart and home for this wonderful boy. He will repay you with an abundance of love and loyalty. #anatolianshepherd #anatolianshepherdmix #belgianmalinois #belgianmalinoislovers #belgianmalinoisofinstagram GRRAND trainers have promised Tygrys that they will educate the right family on how to handle a breed like his. Story
Maestro is a dapper gentleman estimated around 7 years of age and believed to be an English Shepherd. Maestro found himself at the shelter as a stray and his past is a mystery. Maestro has taken some time to come around to having new humans in his life and is now ready to look for a home of his own.    Maestro is a playful, goofy, loyal, and game-y young guy who is looking for a close bond and lots of adventures. Maestro is still learning how to trust new humans and requires a slow, patient introduction preferably during a walk. He loves going on walks and hikes and is a very active young guy - he is particularly fond of exploring muddy ponds. Maestro does have some herding dog tendencies such as circling and wanting to be very mouth on that require understanding and redirection. Maestro is a loving and eager to please guy that is going to thrive with structured socialization and building his library of compassionate experiences. Maestro is learning that the care isn't scary and doing a wonderful job although they aren't his favorite yet. Maestro is very weary of children and is not recommended for a home with children under 13 years old.    Maestro is very dog savvy and lives with a variety of other personalities. He does a great job of navigating play groups and respecting the boundaries of other dogs. He currently prefers trying to play with his preferred humans but is figuring out how to play with the other dogs over time. Maestro has not met any small dogs or cats at this time.    Maestro is searching for a home that values his herding skills and loyalty that can guide him in his ongoing socialization and adventure seeking. If you're the home for Maestro email tierhavenrescue@gmail.com for an adoption application or visit tierhaven.rescuegroups.org for FAQsVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 24, 2025, 3:00 pm

Story
Crystal Symphony is a beautiful female estimated around 7 years of age. She was found as a stray and has an unknown background. Her conformation and personality speak to a possible English Shepherd pedigree, but that is a question we will never really know the answer to.    Crystal is a great girl who is a volunteer favorite for her loyal nature and fun personality. Crystal draws a tight circle around her heart and takes a bit to warm up to the idea of new friends but once you're in it is for life. Crystal loves her people and you couldn't ask for a more attentive, eager to please dog.  Crystal is best described as 'gamey' which is to say she sees nearly everything as a fun game and is always looking for something to get into. Crystal can easily jump a 4 ft fence and happily does so to switch play groups at her foster home. She is an athletic and energetic girl who will need either leash walked or a solid fence to ensure her safety. Crystal is not comfortable around children and would prefer a home without kids.   Crystal is around other dogs in her foster home and does very well. She has a bossy personality and likes to try to round up the other dogs but they tolerate her well. She has a few that she enjoys roughhousing with and overall seems to have a good understanding of dog social manners. Crystal is well mannered and quiet when meeting new dogs while out on walks. Crystal has met some GSD puppies around 10 lbs and thought they were strange little playmates but ultimately did great with them. Crystal is NOT cat friendly.     Crystal is an active and adventurous Shepherd who is looking for a family that will help her learn to trust the world and show her all the fun sides of life. If you're the home for Crystal Symphony please email Tierhavenrescue@gmail.com for an adoption application or visit our website, Tierhaven.rescuegroups.org to view our adoption process and fee. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 24, 2025, 3:00 pm
