Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Fill out an Adoption Application HEADLINER: Meet Waylon! Strong, silent type with lots of love to give HISTORY: Waylon is a Tibetan Mastiff, who, through no fault of his own, found himself in a shelter in Texas. He was loved well and cared for by his previous human, who unfortunately could not keep him due to a life change. Waylon has chronic dry eye, which has caused him some vision issues. He has prescription eye drops that he will need to be on for the rest of his life. Though his vision issues don’t stop him from enjoying life and he’s proven to be super smart and highly adaptable – he figured out the dog door in his foster home as soon as he arrived! PERSONALITY: Think Rip from Yellowstone – all in black with quiet strength, he can appear a little aloof, but once you earn his loyalty, he’ll be fiercely devoted to you! Besides periodic patrols of the yard, his favorite activities are long naps on the floor or dog bed (he’s welcome on the couch, but prefers to stay on the floor!). Housebroken and takes treats gently. Like Rip, he’s a little cautious around strangers, but once they prove they aren’t a threat, he continues on his way unaffected. Does very well taking his eye medication and is cooperative at the vet. He can appear a bit stoic, but don’t let that fool you – he enjoys a good rub down and likes to hang out in the same room as his humans. Fuzzy and soft, he enjoys being brushed and groomed. FAVORITE ACTIVITIES: Napping, patrolling the back yard, barking at the little dogs 2 houses down. He also enjoys being brushed and hearing words of affirmation and love.  MEDICAL ISSUES: Waylon does have some vision impairment, which just makes him a little cautious as he walks around. Steps are challenging for him, but he has successfully navigated the 3 or 4 steps he has to use to get outside in his foster home. His 3 rd eyelid was removed when he was a puppy, and that has caused him chronic dry eye, which has led to some scarring on his cornea. He’s also had a successful entropion eye surgery to repair his eyelids slightly turned inward. His eye specialist says he’ll need to be on eye drops twice a day for the rest of his life. WHAT WOULD BE THE BEST KIND OF HOME: Waylon would do best in a home with minimal stairs due to his vision issues. He needs a family who will be as committed to him and his eye care as he is to them! He’s always lived with other dogs, but would likely do fine as an only dog. ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: Waylon is soft and fuzzy and so sweet! He’s pretty low energy, but don’t mistake that for a lack of enthusiasm for finding a forever home! Like his namesake, Waylon may look like a highwayman, but nothing would make him happier than settling down with the perfect family.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Story
Despite the old saying, sometimes good things do come in BIG packages! That’s certainly the case with Method Man, as this gorgeous guy tops the scale at 112 lbs. If you’d prefer to play in the yard, MM would be happy to oblige, as he’s a pretty laid back guy. But as long as you let him carry a stick, he’ll trot by your side when you go for walks. (Perhaps he thinks the stick is a cool accessory, meant to impress other dogs?) When it’s hot outside, Method loves nothing better than a nice nap on a cool floor, but he prefers to snuggle with a blanket when the weather turns cold. This adorably wrinkled guy is very smart and already knows his commands, and his motto should be ”will work for hot dogs!” Since his owner had to surrender him due to housing issues, Method Man has been very anxious to find his forever home. He prefers to share a home with just his human companions, and will make a wonderful addition to the right family. MM loves playing with stuffed toys, and will entertain his new family with an occasional case of the zoomies. If you decide to share your life and your home with this lovely pup, you’ll be rewarded with loving looks from his very soulful eyes. Adoption by appointment only withan approved application. 🚨 GRU – SURRENDERED AND OUT OF TIME 💔 🚨 Gru’s story breaks our hearts… He came into the shelter as a stray, and when his microchip led us back to where he came from, his family chose to surrender him instead of bringing him home. 💔 Now this big, gentle boy sits waiting, confused and heartbroken — wondering what he did wrong. Gru is sweet, affectionate, and LOVES to cuddle despite everything. He walks great on leash, adores treats, and has become the best puppy pal in the shelter. 🐾 He’s strong, loyal, and full of love to give. Gru deserves a family who will never give up on him. Please — don’t let this incredible dog fade away in a shelter. 🐾 Friendly with dogs 🐾 Walks great on leash 🐾 Loves to cuddle 🐾 Up to date on vaccines ⏳ GRU’S TIME IS RUNNING OUT PLEASE HELP THIS BOY HE IS SO CONFUSED TEXT KAREN 4136298152

Story
Meet Mae, URGENT THIS SWEET GIRL WILL NOT DO WELL IN BOARDING, PLEASE HELP! 8 y/o - spayed (HW+ on treatment) apx 60 lbs No cats or very small dogs Foster says: Mae is a loving, loyal, and playful girl who was slated for euthanasia in an overcrowded NC shelter. Mae loves car rides and tearing apart stuffed toys. she always wants to be close by her person (but not quite on top of you). She knows basic commands and does well being bathed. She is well house trained and will communicate that she needs to go outside with restlessness, pointing, and whining. Mae is not vocal unless she has something she needs. She would love most to have access to a yard yet does wonderful in my apartment anyway. Most of her day is spent napping but she is quick to play with you when it is initiated despite her mild arthritis in her back legs. She is tolerant around other social dogs that are medium-large sized, but no small dogs, cats, etc. She will likely do best as the solo pet in the home in a calm, low-moderate activity household. Mae is currently located in a foster home in NC where she was saved and will be transported to the north/northeast when she has a forever home to go to, the foster is in school and can’t take with her. She need help fast! TEXT KAREN 4136298152
