Story
Roo is a funny and sweet 2-year old Tibetan Mastiff. We fell in love with her instantly when we met her, and quickly adopted her. She has been a great companion for us, but we were neglectful in not better educating ourselves about her breed before adopting her. We now know that Mastiffs were bred to protect their owners. We were honestly a bit naive, and didn't realize that she would not take well to strangers. She has bitten 2 people over the past year. In each instance, it was a man who startled her and we were nearby - she went into protection mode. She definitely has anxiety around men and while she hasn't severely injured anyone, this poses too big a risk for us to continue to bear.We have worked with several trainers over the past year plus, over the course of 4-6 weeks each training, and the behavior has happened again despite the training. We love Roo dearly, but are committed to finding her a loving home, with experienced dog owners, hopefully on large acreage or on a ranch.
