Story
Hi, my name is Luca. I am a 3-legged senior gentleman, who is estimated to be around 10 years old. My history is unknown, but boy if I could only speak "human", I would have some stories to tell.I was found as a stray this year, traveling with another senior cat friend, and brought into a local shelter. They saw I was such a dashing and charming guy with beautiful blue eyes and a gentle soul, and they knew they had to find me a special rescue.Henrico Humane graciously took me in. Can I say, LIFE. IS. GOOD. NOW. I can enjoy my days snuggled up on my cat bed next to my foster mom, while she works from home. I enjoy venturing around the house when there are things to be explored, but with my mobility (arthritis and having only 3 legs) that is limited for now. One thing Henrico Humane did discover about me, is that I was shot by someone at some point in my life, if only I could tell these nice folks if that is how I lost my leg, but they don't understand "cat meows". Nonetheless, my past has not affected my present and my outlook for the future. It would be great if my new home has a heart for special needs animals, as I do have arthritis in my remaining back leg. This causes me to need monthly pain injections that can be done easily at home. I do continue to have "issues" with going poo in the box, since standing still is sometimes hard for me. My foster mom says that is easily managed by bringing me to the box when it is time. I conveniently only go poo once a day most days and it is consistently on a 24 hour schedule. Other than that, I am a loving, gentle kitty that loves to spend time with my family. If I sound like a kitty you could love and give a special home to, please ask to speak to my foster mom on what care I may need and the love I have to give in return.Applications are reviewed on a first come first served basis, so we encourage you to complete an application at www.henricohumane.org/adopt-a-cat before coming to our next adoption event. Our adoption events are every Saturday, excluding holidays, at the Petco next to Trader Joe's in Short Pump from 11:00 to 2:00 (11331 West Broad Street, Glen Allen, VA). To find out if I will be attending this week's adoption event, please email cats@henricohumane.org.

Story
My name is Persia and I am a 8 month old Siamese girl that has a luxurious long haired coat of fur that you will love to pet as you listen to me purr. Right now I have had my world kind of turned upside down.  Long story short, my original mom lost her house and took 37 cats and kittens with her when She left the house where we were living at in her outside shed.  I rode around living in a small utility trailer that was pulled behind her Dodge Pickup truck. So I get along with other cats…. I lived with 36 of all ages.  I have some trust issues at the moment but they will go ahead when I have time to get to know My new family.   Critter Cavalry helped me and 19 other cats that my former mom had in the trailer.  They are still trying to help her but I am free and I just Got spayed and had all the right shots and FIV test which was negative.  I am microchipped also.  Critter Cavalry is nice to me and they are looking for a kind And patient cat loving home that will let me settle in and start my life over with stability.  If you are interested in me please write to ccrnewengland@gmail.com   Our vetting is extensive: Spay, rabies, FIV vaccine, FIV tested and negative, fecal and dewormings and a Drontal  and microchipped. PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.December 10, 2023, 6:55 pm
