Story
Meet Ford! A handsome 120 pound 2 year old Blue Merle Great Dane. He is truly a very gentle giant who loves walks, cuddling, car rides, and playing with his toys. Due to his size and weight he would be best suited with adults and no small children. He is house trained and does not mind spending limited time in a crate. Ford loves other dogs and warms up quickly to people. Ford is a fun-loving boy who loves walks, water, and squeaky toys. His favorite toys are paper, boxes, and empty plastic bottles. Anything he can shred! Ford would best be suited in a quiet home with very low foot traffic. He is easily spooked by new people and becomes frightened. It is best to crate him when new people come to visit or if left alone. If he could spend all day outdoors this would not be a problem for him. He loves being outside or close to a window or opened door so he can view outside. For the most part, he is a couch potato but it is important that he gets outdoor time. A fenced yard would be great for his exercise and zoomies. Ford does well on a gentle lead and looks forward to his daily walks but hold on tight if he sees a squirrel or cat! He would not do well in a house with children due to his over-excitability causing him to nip. Due to his enormous size, even a small nip could be serious. Ford does well with other dogs but because of lack in socialization, other dogs must be kept separate during the warm up period. Ford is in a monthly training session to help him on his socialization issues with meeting new people and dogs. Continuing work will be needed with him to increase his progress. Requirements: other playful dog, experience Dane owner, fenced yard and no childrenSubmit your applications online at: https://oneloveanimalrescue.com/pre-adoption-application/

Story
Lincoln is a fully house trained extremely loving Great Dane. I've had him since he was 12 weeks old, 9yrs now. He loves walks and playing outside, but sleeps mostly. He is fantastic with children. When greeting children he simply lays down on his side and lets kids pet him and love on him. Our old neighbor's children, ages 8-13 would come to take him on walks. We would accompany them but they would run the walk. He is well trained on a leash and knows all the traditional commands, but also boundaries of rooms and spaces with commands such as "out" which means sit on the edge of the room and wait. I had to move to a Miami to take a job with PwC, so about 2 years ago my parents took him in at their home in Savannah, GA. Finding a place where he could live with me here has been a task as rent and rising costs have limited my choices. My parents are older and already dogs, so it has been a lot for them, thus why I am looking for a new home for him. He has all shots and no health issues.
