Story
Chillee is sweet, ten year old chihuahua. She loves to play and be silly, but is very anxious due to living in a household with someone with PTSD and bipolar disorder. She barks and licks to self soothe. She comes from a home with cats and dogs and is good with both. I just want her to be in a home where she can relax. She’s is not utd on vaccinations and needs her teeth cleaned. She just needs a person who will love her and make her feel safe.

Story
Sometimes rescue brings the biggest surprises… and this litter is the perfect example. 🐶✨ Meet Oopsy, Plot, Twist, Surprise, and Lucky — five one-month-old Chihuahua mix puppies who arrived in the most unexpected way. Their mama, Mabel, weighs barely 20 pounds and came to us with absolutely no signs that she was pregnant. Then one day, completely out of the blue, she delivered a surprise litter of puppies right in her own mama’s bed. It was truly an “oops” moment none of us saw coming — but one we never could have planned for and are so grateful turned out safely. Mabel has been an incredible mom. She’s nurtured these babies, kept them warm, and given them the best possible start in life. As the puppies grow, she’s slowly letting us know she’s ready to retire from mom duties — and honestly, we can’t blame her. 💛 The puppies are absolutely thriving. Happy, healthy, playful, and incredibly well-socialized, they love people and are already showing the sweet, loving personalities that will make them amazing additions to their future families. They’ve been raised with care, structure, and love, setting them up for success from the very beginning. ✨ Why spaying and neutering matters: Mabel’s story is a perfect example of how quickly and unexpectedly puppies can be added to the world — even when no one realizes a dog is pregnant. Right now, our state is facing a serious lack of accessible veterinary services, with long waitlists and limited availability for spay and neuter appointments. This makes preventing unplanned litters harder than ever, while shelters and rescues continue to overflow. Spaying and neutering is one of the most important ways we can help reduce pet overpopulation, ease the strain on shelters, and ensure fewer dogs are born without guaranteed homes. Every prevented litter means more resources, time, and care for the animals already here and waiting. Oopsy, Plot, Twist, Surprise, and Lucky will be ready to head to their forever homes in about four weeks. They’re expected to stay on the smaller side, just like Mama Mabel, and will make wonderful little companions for the right families. From an unexpected beginning to a future full of promise, this litter is a reminder that responsible pet ownership truly saves lives. 🖤🐾
