Story
My name is Bear and I’m even cuter than my pictures! I’m a little boy of about 2 years old, so I still have lots of puppy energy. I run in the yard, chase the squirrels, play fetch with a squishy toy, ride in the car, and get my steps in. I also have that proverbial rattie “off” switch, and I love to spend time snuggled next to foster mom in a chair or close by where I can be near her. I'm a pretty good boy - I sit before foster mom puts my dinner plate down, I know some basic commands, I always do my business outside, I’m well behaved in the house, and I sleep quietly in my crate at night until foster mom is ready to get up. I get along with most people and have done well with small children. I have an older foster canine sibling and we get along really well, and I love to play with other dogs my own size (10 lbs!), although I do like being number one. I think I’m a pretty perfect companion don’t you?!   But I do have one behavior I hope you will want to help me overcome. I came out of some tough circumstances and even though foster mom says I’ve come a long way, it’s a big bad world out there and I get scared, especially of big bad dogs. So when I see one of those big dogs, I huff and I puff and I . . . bark. Loudly, dramatically. Everyone who’s seen me says it’s quite fearsome. But they’re so much bigger than me, so I have to make up for my small size and tell them to stay away. It means that as much as I love leash walks, I get pretty reactive if we see another dog while we’re walking.   Foster mom is working with me and I’m making some progress, but you and I are going to have to keep practicing. I'm very food motivated so it won't be too hard, especially for me! While I’m still learning, foster mom says I need a home with a fully fenced back yard. I’d love it if you were home with me most of the day, because as I mentioned, I really love to cuddle with my person. It would be nice to have a canine playmate my own size, but it’s ok with me if I only have you because you’ll always be the center of my attention. I think I’m worth it if you’ll have me. You can see more of me in my photo album at https://imageevent.com/newrattitude/bear   Beginning March 1, 2025, our adoption fee is $250 for adult dogs or $300 for puppies under 6 months old. Story
Daisy is a happy 3 year-old rat terrier mix. This cute black-and-white girl is friendly with people and other dogs. She enjoys her walks, and loves a good game of chase or wrestling with another dog.  She is very playful and will toss up a toy and play with it on her own! She also loves downtime and snuggles with her human. She would like to be with you always and will follow you around the house and patiently wait on a rug while you take a shower. Daisy is 23 lbs. now but is on a diet because she is  very food motivated and will snap up any food within reach. She is house-trained and has not had an accident at her foster home. She does so well in her pack of foster siblings; if one of them barks at something, she'll join in but she doesn't bark much on her own. Her prey drive is pretty low though she might dig in the yard after a burrowing critter.  A house with a fenced-in yard is needed so she can continue exercising and running about. Mostly, though, Daisy loves to be with her human. Maybe that is you! Story
Sweet, goofy Elton is a young guy at around 1 year old. He is an adorable chihuahua mix and weighs 14 lbs. Though he's a youthful pup, he is fully house-trained!  Elton loves squeaky toys, snuggling under blankets with his humans, going on long sniff walks, and being the center of attention. Elton does not love sleeping in a crate or sharing his favorite human with other dogs. For this reason, he should be the only doggie of the home.  Elton brings joy to his foster family and makes them laugh every day. He is an all-around good boy, who is waiting for his forever family. Could that be you?  For more photos of this darling boy, please visit https://imageevent.com/newrattitude/elton .  Beginning March 1, 2025, our adoption fee is $250 for adult dogs or $300 for puppies under 6 months old.
