Story
Tanner is an impressive young, 18 months old, 10 pound, white Toy Poodle that is just a sweetheart of a boy.  He is kind of shy at first when meeting new people, but warms up fast and then he is your buddy for life!  He walks on a leash and is crate trained, and still not completely housebroken.  It is a work in progress.  He gets along great with other dogs and we feel that he should be in a home with another dog there to confidently show him the ropes in life.  If a household has children, we suggest older kids to be better for him.  He does like to cuddle and loves lots of petting time.  He doesn't bark much at all and we know he would like someone that is home most of the time.  His energy level is a nice medium flow and when you are ready to settle, he is by your side.  We don’t need to mention his cuteness factor and he totally is the sweetest boy ever. If you are ready for this boy and the next good 15 years of love, then email us at ccrnewengland@gmail.com   PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.September 30, 2023, 1:13 pm

Thank you for your interest in dog who needs a new home.  Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion. A note to those looking at CPR.  We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone.  Our job is to find those someone's.  Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog.  They come to us because they want to give a dog a home.  We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture.  While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face.  Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home.  We want to create furever families.  Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today.  We'll update as more information is known.  Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days?  If so please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and complete the application.  You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side.  You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available.  Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes?  Please drop a note to applications@carolinapoodlerescue.org with your name, address and phone # and email.  We'll add you to our mailing list. thanks the CPR Adoption team   Date into Rescue:  07/13/23 Reason for being in rescue: breeder release / retiring Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Tigger is spayed, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. On 8/8/23 Tigger had a dental with extractions. Our veterinarian noted that Tigger will likely need dentals on an annual basis moving forward. Weight: 9 lbs Height: 12 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $399 Fence needed? No, but she would love one What kind of home would be best for me? Tigger is searching for a home with a lap or even better two laps. Tigger's home should be mellow and calm to help her adjust to her new life. Tigger would like another buddy but it is not required. Tigger loves all canines and has met our residential cat several times with no issues. Tigger prefers no young children in her home at first, she can be timid and a child's first instinct is to touch and grab at a small dog. Tigger will become comfortable over time and we're sure she'll grow to love children. What is my personality like? Tigger's personality is very mellow. She can be shy first but warms up. She does an adorable tippy tap dance when she wants attention from her caregivers. Tigger is usually following her caregivers around waiting for them to turn around and pay her attention. Tigger is going to require some patience when first brought home. She so badly wants to be loved on, but isn't quite sure how to be a pet. After about 3 weeks Tigger is going to be the best and most excitable little girl in the world for the right home. Tigger has never lived as a companion or pet, but is SO eager to learn. This girl has so much potential - we can't wait to watch her blossom and grow! How do I act when I first meet new people? Timid and unsure Other tips and tidbits: Tigger's birthday is 10/15/2017 House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note - we do not ship dogs.  If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip.  Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina.   To apply, please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home.   You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc.  Others here may be a better fit for you.  It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description.  Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a  dog not in our listings yet.  We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. Thank you for considering CPR. September 30, 2023, 3:03 pm

Tux is neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. Weight: 8.50 lbs Height: 12 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $399 Fence needed? Yes What kind of home would be best for me? Tux absolutely must have an experienced owner who can give him the time, patience, space, affirmations, reassurance, and love that he needs. Tux needs another dog in the home to help comfort him, guide him, and direct him. He has never experienced home life and needs another canine companion to help teach him new things that us humans can’t quite teach. This boy has so much potential in the right home, with the right family and the right canine companion to guide him. Tux has never lived with children and will not be placed in a home with children under 12. What is my personality like? Tux is a 2 year old male Toy Poodle who is seeking a home that can offer him a ton of reassurance and love him unconditionally. Tux is a recovering breeder dog and has never known true love and has never experienced life as a beloved pet. Everything you teach Tux will be brand new to him. He has never been on leash, he has never been taught any cues or skills, he has never felt the warmth of a family loving him. He is beyond eager to learn everything about life and will make somebody a wonderful companion. Tux enjoys being outdoors where he can explore his surroundings, but he gets frightened easily. He is terrified of leashes but will let you hold him (he prefers this as it makes him feel safe). He is still learning how to keep his crate/area clean but is making progress. Tux is an absolutely wonderful dog, he just needs a family who is willing to give him the time and patience to fully open up and come around. How do I act when I first meet new people? Tux is extremely fearful when meeting new people and when introduced into a new environment. He needs an owner/family who is willing to learn and respect his boundaries, and who is willing to put tons and tons of time and effort into him Other tips and tidbits: Tux's birthday is 06/11/2021 House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. Brett is neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. Weight: 9.3 lbs Height: 12 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $349 Fence needed? No What kind of home would be best for me? Brett needs a home with patient adults. He has spent his whole life being a stud dog and has no idea what the human world offers. Brett will take time and patience to understand the noises people make. Brett does not understand that human hands are full of kindness. Brett needs owners who are ready to show him the best of humanity with time and love. He requires a calm, confident older dog buddy as he loves his kennel mate, Zelda. We think Brett might be an old soul in a young dog's body.  What is my personality like? Breeder-release dogs take time. Brett is a dog that takes a tender touch. Once he learns it is safe, we believe you will have a lifelong friend. Brett has never known life as a companion or pet. He is scared and skittish of humans, but curious about his caregivers. Brett loves being outside and ready to cuddle his best dog friend. How do I act when I first meet new people? Brett is still figuring out what humans are all about. He is fearful when he meets people and will look for the quickest exit. Slow and steady wins the race with this boy. Other tips and tidbits: Brett is estimated at 5 years old. We celebrate his birthday 07/06/2018. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours.
