** I am seeking a FOSTER to help me become the best boy I can be **Milo is a 5-year-old, Lhasa Apso mix. He arrived at the shelter as a surrender, and while his past left him a little skinny and needing some specialized care, he is eager to put that chapter behind him!Milo came into the shelter quite underweight and severely matted, which was causing him significant pain. The vet team quickly removed his matting to make him more comfortable. He was placed on a feeding plan to help him gain weight and after nearly a month of TLC, Milo looks like a whole new dog!Milo requires a foster who is dedicated to respecting his personal space and reading his body language, especially in new or overwhelming situations. Our behavior & training team will be there for you every step of the way! Because of his need for clear boundaries, we are looking for a foster home without young children. He thrives when his people use clear, consistent communication and gentle guidance, allowing him to feel safe and respected. We have dog tested Milo and he has shown us that he greatly enjoys playing with canine companions! However, due to experiencing food insecurity in his previous home, he will need a foster who is careful when introducing food, treats, toys, and affection as he is likely to become possessive of those resources. We are unsure of his background with cats or small animals.We are hoping that with the right foundation of trust and consistent care, he will transition from a guarded guy into the affectionate, regal companion this breed is known to be.Milo is neutered and has received core vaccinations (bordetella, canine distemper, rabies), flea + tick preventative, has been dewormed, and is microchipped.If you are interested in fostering Milo, reach out to us at 920-733-1717 or adopt@foxvalleypets.org.
