Sammy is around 1 year old and weighs about 12lbs. Sammy D wandered up to our directors home last summer and decided that maybe life as a stray was overrated. She brought him in, and he's been living the good life ever since. Soft blankets, cozy beds, indoor naps, and plenty of love. And Sammy D? He absolutely loves being part of the family. This handsome boy is a total character. He's a talker, a comedian, and always wants to be involved in whatever you're doing. He loves sleeping with his people, lounging indoors, and soaking up attention. But Sammy D also enjoys having some outdoor time where he can explore, run, and do what he does best, mouse patrol! Truly, he may be the best mouser we've ever seen. Sammy D gets along wonderfully with dogs, but unfortunately, he and the resident cat have decided they are not meant to be roommates. Because of that, we think he would thrive as an only cat or in a home carefully matched to his personality. If his new family chooses to let him enjoy supervised outdoor time, he will need to stay safely indoors for at least a month first so he fully understands where home is. We would also love to find him a local Alabama home so he doesn't have to make the long trip north like so many of our rescue pets. Sammy D truly deserves a wonderful home where he can be loved for exactly who he is funny, affectionate, adventurous, and completely unforgettable. Sarge is a big, beautiful boy that requires a lot of attention and play. Just because he’s big doesn’t mean he’s lazy!. Sarge is not overweight, he’s just a big boy. So no diet for him! In fact, since he’s been back at the Haven, he’s even lost a little weight because he has been consumed with a new toy that we have and even will ask us for it! He gets along with every cat in the house, but not sure about dogs. If you have a catio, even better. He loves watching the birds and squirrels. He’s very intuitive too.
