Story
Ava is beautiful MHD who is ready for her forever home! She is very sweet great with other cats, and is affectionate. She would be great in a quieter home setting not a lot of high energy around the house. She loves pets and snuggles and of course being pampered with treats She was found abandoned with another cat , people moved and left the cats behind, really sad but we see that a lot in rescue. We don't want this to happen again she deserves this best and deserves a permanent forever home. Please if you are interested in adopting Ava please reach out to our Rescue

Story
Meet Shark! 🎵Baby Shark doo-doo-doo 🎵 Her name is Shark, but the only thing she’s circling is the food bowl. Meet this adorable group of friends who are ready to find their next homes—together or apart! At first, they can be a bit shy and will need some time and patience to adjust—but once they feel safe, their true personalities start to shine. Playful and curious, this crew loves to stay entertained with toys, chasing, and exploring their space. You’ll often catch them zooming around or engaging in silly antics together. Among the group, Lobster and Kelp are the social butterflies—they’re the first to come say hello, bravely leading the way and helping their friends feel more confident. With a little time, love, and understanding, these cats will blossom into wonderful companions. They would do best in a home that can give them the patience they need to settle in and continue building their confidence. Whether you’re looking to adopt a pair or open your home to more, this sweet group has so much love (and fun!) to offer. FIV is a cat-only virus and does not affect people or dogs. FIV+ cats most often live long, healthy, and relatively normal lives with no symptoms at all. FIV is not easily passed between cats. If you are looking to add an FIV+ cat to your family and you currently have cats that are not FIV+ please speak with your vet. Ready to Adopt? You have two options: #1- VISIT IN PERSON Come during our open adoption hours: Tuesday - Saturday,12:30 - 3:00pm. You’ll be able to meet available cats in the shelter. (Cats in foster care are not available for in-person visits.) #2- ADOPT REMOTELY OR PLACE A 24-HOUR HOLD** If you’re ready to adopt without meeting the cat first, or you’d like to place a non-refundable $25 hold to reserve a cat for 24 hours, just call or email us: (413) 781-4000 x 1 springfield@dakinhumane.org. We are often helping other clients when you call, but we return voicemails and emails within 24 hours. **Holds are not available on Saturdays and during adoption events. -------------------------------------------- All cat adoption fees include; -spay/neuter -rabies vaccine -current distemper vaccines (may need additional boosters with your veterinarian) -FeLV/FIV blood test -microchip implanted & registered to the adopter -treatment of fleas/ticks/ear mites -veterinary exam and health certificate at Dakin -free vet exam within 30 days after adoption with participating veterinarians Most pets have also received other medical care while with us. Luna arrived with four of her kitty friends when her loving human moved into assisted living. This change has been a big adjustment for her, and she’s taking it in with quiet grace.Luna is a gentle, soft-spoken girl who would be content as an only kitty or sharing her home with one or two calm feline companions. In return, she will offer a quiet, steady companionship that grows deeper as trust builds.Luna is looking for a serene home where she can relax, decompress, and begin her next chapter feeling secure and loved.OTHER PETS: Luna is looking for a home by herself or with a kitty friend or two.OWNER EXPERIENCE: Luna's adopter should be acquainted with kitties who are a bit worried.KIDS: Luna is best suited for an adult only home.ACTIVITY LEVEL: Luna is quite chill here those looking for a quiet lap kitty may want to meet her.VETERINARY CARE: Luna is looking forward to meeting her new vet and receiving on-going regular vet care.LEVEL OF SOCIALIZATION: Luna's adopters must be patient as she learns to settle into her new home.GROOMING: Luna takes very good care of her pretty coat.April 5, 2026, 8:28 pm
