This beautiful 7-year-old gray-and-white domestic medium hair kitty is as sweet as she is striking with her stunning green eyes. Bellatrix is a loving and affectionate companion, especially with her humans, though she prefers to be the only cat in the household. While Bellatrix is FIV-positive, it is not contagious to humans or other animals. It is safe for her to live with other kitties who are not FIV+. She takes Lysine daily to help support her immune system, and this medication will need to continue in her new home. Bellatrix is ready to shower you with love and would thrive in a peaceful environment where she can be your one and only feline friend. Her adoption fee is $135. Give this sweet girl the home she deserves! Many FIV-infected cats can live happily with the virus for a long time, and in some cats, the virus may never cause illness. Whether disease develops depends on several factors including the strain of FIV a cat is infected with, the cat’s immune response, and the presence or absence of other infections.&#226&#128&#175  The main aims of managing an FIV infection are to prevent further spread of infection to other cats and to maintain a good quality of life for the infected cat. General and supportive treatment includes:  Neutering all FIV-infected cats to reduce the risk of fighting and the spread of infection  Keeping FIV-positive cats indoors and keeping them away from non-infected cats. This helps prevent the spread of infection to other cats and reduces exposure of the FIV-infected cat to other infections. In stable homes where cats don’t fight, the risk of spread of infection is low Feeding good quality, commercial cat food and avoiding raw meat, eggs and unpasteurised dairy products  Maintaining routine preventive healthcare (regular flea and worm control, routine vaccinations etc.)  Veterinary health checks twice yearly.
