Meet Lucy!Lucy came to us as an owner surrender after the resident dogs didn`t get along with her. After a month of being confined to a closet to avoid the dogs, Lucy`s owner knew that she deserved better and surrendered her to us. Understandably, Lucy was very afraid, shut down, and scared of being stuck behind doors. She had a lot of trouble with barrier reactivity behind her closed cage door. After her barrier reactivity continued to regress, we moved Lucy into a quieter room with less activity. Unfortunately, being able to hear, see, and smell the other cats in the room caused Lucy to continue her reactive behaviors; she was still her sweet self, but would sometimes react in an aggressive way when approached. We knew she had to be in a room with no other animals so she could blossom. Lucy now reigns over our Foster Coordinator`s office, where she gets to soak up all the space and attention for herself. She is now showing her true colors: a sweet girl that loves butt scritches and head pats. She`s not a huge player but has even started showing interest in toys. Feather wands and crinkly things are her favorites!If you have no other animals and think that Lucy sounds like your perfect one-and-only, come meet her today! She`s waiting for you to give her the second chance she deserves.

Meet Asher!Asher came to us as an injured stray in need of some TLC. After about a month of medical treatment, and plenty of love, Asher is finally ready to find his forever home.The most important thing to know about Asher is that he is FIV+. However, cats with FIV can live the same long and healthy lives as cats without the virus if given proper veterinary care! Asher can even live with other cats that don`t have FIV with proper peaceful introductions. He`ll need a low-stress environment to stay healthy, but he`s a pretty low-energy guy anyway.Asher is also a very silly cat. He loves to yell until he gets the attention that he wants. If you`ve been thinking that your house may be too quiet, Asher says no problem-- he will fix that for you. He can also sniff out treats like a bloodhound. No treat container is safe from Asher`s nose!In the shelter, Asher has had no issues seeing other cats in their cages, but in a home environment he will of course need a slow, proper introduction to any resident animals. He loves to play with a feather wand with people, but he`s more of the coexisting type with other cats.If you think Asher sounds like your next best friend, come meet him today! Story
Jasper is about 1.5 and we got him at a shelter a year ago. He is a very good boy (never jumps on counters, doesn’t scratch furniture, etc)! He has one eye due to unknown causes (shelter wouldn’t tell us), but as far as we know he has no medical issues. He is a little skittish sometimes (we believe due to the incident with his eye) but once he is comfortable he is very affectionate. We unfortunately need to re-home him because I’m going to college and my mom no longer is okay with caring for him while I’m there… He is a very chill boy who has small bouts of energy, so we hope to find a home that will cater to that!
