Smudge is a seven-month-old-ish LaPerm/medium-haired boy with a white-and-black coat that looks like someone got creative and then refused to stop. He’s one of those cats you notice immediately, not just because of his curls and markings, but because he has a quietly thoughtful way of taking in the world.Smudge is curious but still a little unsure, especially in new situations. He was surrendered to a shelter a couple months ago because the other animals in the home weren’t a fan, which tells us less about Smudge and more about mismatched roommates.He’s the kind of cat who wants to observe first, investigate second, and decide on trust third. With patient humans and a calmer environment, Smudge has all the potential to grow into a confident, affectionate companion. Cannoli is a tiny, fluffy brown girl with a soft presence and a big heart. Once she feels safe (and it could take a few weeks), she happily hops into laps and settles in like it’s always been her plan. She’s incredibly sweet and affectionate, especially with people who let her set the pace.Found as a shy kitten in a garage early this winter, Cannoli has made wonderful progress in foster care and continues to grow more confident every day. She loves toys, is very tidy with her litterbox, and truly enjoys quiet companionship. She will still need a little time to adjust in a new home, but her trust is well worth earning.Cannoli adores other kittens and needs to be adopted with another kitten (like her brother Biscotti) or to a home with another friendly cat or kitten. Because of her sensitive nature, a calmer household without little kids would be the best fit. Foster home visits will be important to show her true personality and help ensure the right match.Cannoli is available to be adopted by appointment by approved adopters at her foster home, and will start braving adoption events at our Verona Adoption Center the weekend of January 24.
