Story
BIRTHED THEIR LITTERS ON THE SAME DAY DOB 10/1/23, 10/1/24 Hey there, everyone! We’re Winter and Summer, a sweet, calm, and gentle mother/ daughter duo who is very bonded to each other. Although we cry when we’re separated, we both adore sharing quiet moments with Foster Meowmy – especially when she rubs Winter’s belly or gently scratches Summer’s ears, chin, and cheeks. Boy howdy! Does that ever feel good! Winter says, “I’m a loving Turkish Van mix gal, which means that I’m white except for a black cap on my head and black tail. I’m really quite a stunning beauty who will mesmerize you with my shiny gold-coin eyes and plush, snowy-white coat. When Foster Meowmy’s not available to dispense belly rubs, I’m quite content to pass the day basking in a patch of sunshine on the windowsill. It’s the perfect spot to watch “kitty TV” as squirrels scamper up the trees, birds fly by, and brazen lizards stare at me through the glass.” Summer says, “I’m a playful “bicolor,” which means that I’m mostly white except for soft brown tabby on my head, back, and tail. My natural eyeliner and lipstick give me a glamorous look, if I do say so myself! I’m barely more than a kitten myself, so I have a playful side that loves to sneak up on toys like a wild little huntress. You should see the enthusiasm that I have when Foster Meowmy waves the wand toy up, down, and around the room!” Winter continues, “I deserve to live a life of leisure because by the time I was 19 months old, I had already delivered two litters of kittens at an apartment complex in southwest Houston. Like mother, like daughter -- I was a year old when Summer was born, and Summer was seven months old when we both gave birth to a total of nine kittens on the very same day in May!” We merged our two litters so none of the kits knew which of us was their momma or grandma. We raised our kittens together as true partners to insure that our kittens got the nonstop love and nurturing they needed to thrive. When the kits were six weeks old, a kind HOPE volunteer rescued all eleven of us from the apartments and brought us into foster care. Now that we’ve permanently retired from motherhood, we’re ready to teach our forever hooman family how to relax and chill out after a hard day at the office. Oh the fun we all might have side-by-side on the sofa as we binge on Netflix and Animal Planet. To make our ecstasy complete, you just have to promise to give Winter an occasional belly rub and from time to time scratch the sweet spots on Summer’s head. Since we’re inseparable and cry when we aren’t together, we think it would be the cat's meow if we could be adopted together. We could be lifetime cuddle buddies and playmates while you're at work or on vacation. Arrange to meet us today! Incidentally, there are advantages of adopting kitties who are past the stage of kitten mayhem. We’re much less likely to cause chaos in your home or break your treasured accessories. HOPE ID 25-0609-S039, S040 Winter and Summer are currently in the Houston, Texas area but can be transported to this location upon adoption. The $425 bonded-pair adoption fee includes transport, health certificate, spay/neuter, basic vaccines, microchip and registration, testing for FIV/FeLV, negative fecal test, and preventative treatment against fleas and parasites. Story
Meet our beautiful little princess, Sophie. Rescued from a small apartment in Hartford, this two-year-old diva has fully embraced the royal life — and she is ready to rule her forever home. Sophie is incredibly sweet and deeply devoted to her people. If she had it her way, she would happily spend the entire day curled up in your lap, purring like a tiny motor and soaking up your love. She adores attention — on her terms, of course — and when she chooses you as her throne for the day, there is no greater honor. She bonds closely and loves deeply, and there is something so special about earning the affection of a girl who knows exactly what she wants. True to her royal status, Sophie insists on being the one and only pet in her kingdom. She does not wish to share her subjects (that’s you!) with other animals. She thrives in a calm, quiet home without young children and would do best with an experienced cat owner who understands and appreciates a confident, expressive girl. She can be a little spicy at times — but we appreciate a woman who knows what she wants! Underneath that sass is an incredibly loving lap cat who just wants to feel safe, adored, and cherished. Sophie is spayed, vaccinated for rabies and distemper, microchipped, and has tested negative for FIV/FeLV. If you’re ready to devote your lap — and your heart — to a true princess, Sophie is waiting for you!

Story
Elmer was rescued as a stray in Southington and is now thriving in a loving foster home in Berlin with other cats. This handsome 2-year-old boy is truly one of the sweetest cats you’ll ever meet. Elmer absolutely adores people and will happily soak up all the love and attention you’re willing to give. He’s an affectionate, devoted lap cat who will climb right up, settle in, and purr contentedly for as long as you’ll let him. If you’re looking for a constant companion who wants nothing more than to be by your side (or better yet, on your lap!), Elmer is your guy. He gets along well with submissive female cats and would do best in a home that understands his gentle, loving nature. Elmer has food allergies, and does well on Hound & Gatos canned food, which does not require a prescription. Elmer has been neutered, vaccinated for rabies and distemper, microchipped, and tested negative for FeLV. He has tested positive for FIV. Many FIV+ cats live long, happy, healthy lives, and we fully expect Elmer to do the same with proper care. FIV cannot be transmitted to humans or to any animals other than cats. It is not spread through casual contact like sharing food and water bowls, litter boxes, or grooming. In neutered cats, FIV is typically transmitted only through deep bite wounds, and compatible cats typically don't do this. If you have any questions about FIV or about sweet Elmer, please email us — we’re happy to help. His adoption fee is $250.
