Meet Butter! This handsome 1.5-year-old Vizsla mix is a sweet, gentle boy who is learning that the world isn't such a scary place. Coming from a hoarding situation, Butter is still building confidence, but his progress in foster care has been wonderful to see! He has recently started accepting gentle pets from his foster family and even taking treats right from their hands. Cheese is definitely the way to his heart! When he isn't enjoying a tasty treat, you can usually find him relaxing with one of his favorite bones. Butter is a quiet, calm boy who eats well and is mostly house-trained. He isn't ready for leash walks just yet, as they cause him quite a bit of anxiety, but he does a great job learning by watching the other dogs around him. Having a canine companion helps him feel safe and gives him the confidence to explore the world at his own pace. Butter will need a home with a resident dog and a securely fenced yard. He does well with cats, too, and generally ignores them. He has warmed up to the women in his foster home but remains wary of men, so a home with a woman would be ideal. Most importantly, Butter needs a patient, understanding family willing to give him the time and space he needs to feel comfortable. Butter may need extra time to come out of his shell, but watching him learn to trust is incredibly rewarding. With a dog friend to show him the ropes and a person willing to celebrate the little victories, Butter has so much potential to blossom!

Meet Syrup, a 1.5-year-old Vizsla who is learning that the world can be a safe and happy place. 💕 Syrup came to us from a difficult situation and is understandably very shy and cautious in new environments. She’s been making progress in her foster home at her own pace. She’s eating well, taking her medications, and is getting more comfortable each day. One of her favorite parts of foster life is her new best friend, Mango! She loves having him nearby and seems to take comfort from his companionship. Syrup is still learning about things like leashes and being outside her crate, so she’ll need a patient home willing to give her plenty of time, space, and encouragement. She may not be ready to jump into your lap just yet, but with patience and a little time, we’re excited to see this sweet girl continue to come out of her shell. 🐾

Meet Covet !! He came in as a stray on 8/26/26. We think he is about 2 years old. He is a wiggle butt! He never stops wiggling! He is such a happy guy and he is very friendly. He has lots of energy and he would enjoy room to run. He is available for adoption so hurry in to meet him! Covet is located at the Richland County Dog Shelter in Mansfield, OH.
