Story
Hi… I am Peanut, I am around 5 years old, a 41 lb Jack Russell/Beagle mix. I will do best as the only dog in the household. I just don’t always know how to trust, after everything I’ve been through. I really want a calm, loving place where I can feel secure, and spend the rest of my life being the loyal, loving companion I was always meant to be. 🏡🤍If you open your heart to me, you’re not just adopting a dog—you’re giving a survivor the happy ending she has been waiting for. And I promise, I’ll fill your life with more love than you ever imagined. 💕🐾 A couple of years ago, I was found in a sugarcane field, starving, covered in fleas and mange, and just trying to survive by drinking from a muddy ditch. No one knows exactly what I went through before that, but we do know it left me a little scared of the world—especially other dogs. 💕I was so sick with heartworms that I almost didn’t make it, and I still carry tiny pellets in my chest from being shot… so loud noises like thunder and fireworks can be really scary for me. 🐶❤️🐶The kind humans who rescued me refused to give up, and because of them, I am now healthy, heartworm-free, fixed, chipped, and finally know what it feels like to be loved. I am ready to give love back, I am incredibly sweet, such a gentle soul with the biggest heart. I adore people, do wonderful with kids, and I am happiest when I am close to my humans—whether that’s soaking up attention or just quietly being near you. 🥰 Come meet me and adopt me today. You can also call the shelter at 479-394-5682 to find out more about me.****************All animals at HSO are current on their vaccinations and will be spayed/neutered prior to adoption. Story
🐾🤎 Hi there! My name is Brooke! 🤎🐾I'm a beautiful Hound/German Shorthaired Pointer mix with a heart full of love and a joyful spirit that brightens every room I enter. At about 2 years old and 60 pounds, I'm the perfect combination of affectionate, adventurous, and loyal—the kind of companion who's always ready to be by your side. Life hasn't always been easy for me. There were times when food was hard to come by, and because of that, I can be protective of my meals and special treats. To keep everyone safe, happy, and friends, I'll need to be fed separately from other pets in the home. It's an easy management step that helps me feel secure and comfortable. ❤️Despite my rough start, I absolutely love people and have so much affection to give. I'm the kind of girl who enjoys being close to my humans, whether we're curled up on the couch, relaxing after a long day, or heading out for a new adventure. Belly rubs, ear scratches, tasty treats, and quality time with my favorite people are some of my favorite things in life. 🥰I'm wonderfully social with other dogs, though I do have a bit of an alpha personality. I generally prefer male canine companions and would likely do best as the only female in the household, though I may get along with a smaller, submissive female with proper introductions. I enjoy having dog friends, but I'd also be perfectly happy soaking up all the attention as your one and only princess. 👑🐕One thing you should know about me—I love to travel! 🚗 Whether it's a quick trip to town, a weekend getaway, or an outdoor adventure, I'm always excited to hop in the car and see where we're headed next. I ride well and enjoy being included in whatever my family is doing. I'm also a fantastic walking buddy. I walk nicely on a leash and love long walks, hikes, and even a good run. I can pull a little when I get excited, but I'm highly intelligent and eager to learn. With consistency, patience, and a few yummy treats, I'd be happy to polish up my leash manners even more. When it's time to play, I'm all in! I love romping around the yard, exploring new places, and enjoying life to the fullest. But don't worry—I have a soft side too. After a day of fun, I'm more than happy to snuggle up close and soak up all the love and attention you're willing to give. If you're looking for a loyal, loving companion who's equally happy exploring the world or cuddling on the couch, I might just be the perfect girl for you. 💕📞 Call 479-394-5682 to learn more about me. I can't wait to find my forever family! 🐾🤎****************All animals at HSO are current on their vaccinations and will be spayed/neutered prior to adoption.
