M - 3 years old - Great Dane/Weimaraner Mix -
Chowder is a sweet, social guy who's ready to find a family that has the time to make him part of the action!
He has attended training classes and did great, and he knows how to listen when his person asks him to sit or lay down. He's done well meeting children in public and enjoys saying hello to new people, although his excitement can sometimes turn into an enthusiastic jump if he's allowed!
Chowder is also a big fan of canine companionship. He did wonderfully at the dog park and has lived successfully with another dog. He even did well with a resident cat, although his manners around cats outside the home aren't quite as polished. Stray cats and wildlife spook him, so he'll need someone who can help him stay focused on walks.
He's generally a pretty quiet guy. New places can make him a little unsure at first, but give him a few visits to get familiar and he'll settle right in. Unfortunately, Chowder was returned because his previous family no longer had enough time for him. He deserves a home where he isn't just around his people, he gets to actually be part of their lives.
Whether you're looking for a walking buddy, a dog park companion, or simply a sweet guy to hang out with at home, Chowder is ready to go wherever the day takes him. All he needs is someone with the time to show him just how much fun life can be when you're part of a family.

To adopt, come see us! We're open for walk-ins Tuesday - Sunday from 11 AM to 5 PM with adoptions closing at 4:30 PM each day. All adoptions are $25 and our pets are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and ready to head home with you.
