Story
Max is an almost 2 year-old Weim/Silver Lab.  He loves everyone and is housetrained as well. He has the energy of a Weimaraner or a young lab.  He likes the water, so he would probably make a fun companion to take to the lake. He also would make an excellent hiking buddy. He is such a handsome dog and likes to greet everyone!  If you are looking for a dog, that is not a couch potato that can settle if need be, he is probably the one for you! His last weight was about 75 pounds. He doesn't have any food aggression so that is a plus. Like most Weim's he does have prey drive and would definitely chase a squirrel or a bunny. Max has been responding well to "Leave it" when we walk and see another dog but it's game on when we get close to a bunny! Max met a four-year-old and actually did really well with her despite that he is young and exuberant.  However, many families that have young children might be super busy and it might be hard to get him the exercise he needs. A small courtyard probably would not work for him unless someone is willing to give him a good walk in the morning and in the evening. He would love to hang outside on nice days and enjoys lounging around. Max was fabulous with the resident lab in his previous home but it does take him a day or two to feel comfortable. He's a bit of a large chicken! He has bunked with a 12 pound dog and did really well.  He knows sit and is treat motivated.  He loves to get ALL of his toys out of his toy box in order to find the right one!  He;s quirky and fun!   If you would like an adoption application email storkwoods@comcast.net which is the quickest way to get the ball rolling. We are an all volunteer-based rescue.   This dog is being fostered in Middle TN but a transport is available to the New England area.

Story
Meet Betty! Betty is a beautiful 4 yr old Weimaraner Viszla X. She is a very sweet girl, but very timid and nervous at first. She needs a very patient owner(s) who is willing to give her the time and space she needs to help build her confidence. Must be the only dog, could go with older kids who would also understand her needs, and unknown with cats. Where are my people with experience with fearful dogs?!?! Betty needs YOU!!

These pups are in Manchester, New Hampshire too!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. YOKO and her siblings were saved from a kill shelter in Louisiana and arrived at Give a Dog a Home Rescue, in Sebec, Maine on 10 October 2023. YOKO is spayed, core vaccines, monthly preventatives and is microchipped with 24PetWatch. He has an estimated date of birth of August 2022 and at the time of transport weighed around 6.6 pounds. She will need her rabies vaccine when she reaches the appropriate age. We have no way of knowing the breed, it is up to individuals to look at the pictures and videos to make up their own mind. We take a lot of pictures and videos and don't always have the time to post them on the dogs individual webpage and adoption site, so we ask that you go to the rescue    YouTube channel    and    photo albums on our Facebook page    to see a LOT of pictures and videos. We are looking for families that have the lifestyle that the dog needs to lead a healthy, both mentally and physically life, who can afford a GOOD quality food, toys and treats and understand the importance of veterinary wellness checks. YOKO is located at the rescue in Sebec Maine and is available for an adoption fee of $550. Interested families are required to complete our application process and once approved schedule an appointment to come to the rescue to meet and take home their new best friend. Our process takes 1-2 days as long as we are able to talk to references, so be prepared to be approved (hopefully) to adopt within a few days of submitting the adoption application. https://giveadogahome-rescue.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=5838 HOUSE TRAINED - All of our dogs are located in the kennel building so we are not able to say if a dog is house-trained, however, they do have access and use the dog door to access their run, play area 24/7.
