Story
Meet Handsome Hunk! With beautiful smooth steel gray coat and muscular build Hunk is one stunning dog. He is also a happy Hunk as he happily prances on his long walks which he loves. Hunk is a very special dog! He is quite and resilient, gentle and loving. He loves every person he meets and wants to give them kisses. He is around 2 years old and large size dog weighing over 80 pounds. He is very athletic, obedient and smart hence would excel at dog agility and nose work. He would make an excellent hiking and jogging partner. He loves long hikes and also swimming. Hunk has a strong prey drive and does want to chase squirrels and other wild animals, so a secured fence yard recommended. He is playful and loves balls and playing fetch in the yard. He will thrive with an active family who has experience with large breed dogs and has the time to train and exercise him daily. In return Hunk will protect and love you since he is very affectionate and fiercely loyal dog. Hunk is up to date on vaccinations, neutered and microchipped. If you can't adopt please consider fostering Hunk. If you are interested in meeting Hunk please email us at Rescuewithoutborders@gmail.com

Story
Adopt Maverick! We cannot believe we are still hanging onto this stunning, unbelievably sweet gentle boy.  This handsome Weimaraner is about 4-5 years old and quite the catch he joined us from a shelter partner where he learned being brave meant quickly winning their hearts. Maverick loves being outside and would love some space to run or an adopter who enjoys fresh air like he does! He knows basic commands and has been working on polishing them up with foster dad. Maverick is a mix of play; hes over the “young energetic dog” phase but still enjoys some toy time.  Maverick has done well with dogs and loves being with people. Although he is timid natured at first, he warms up and loves neck rubs and nuzzling you. He has done well with children and could potientially live with a dog savvy cat with slow introduction and ability to separate.  To adopt Maverick: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/NARP/Dog &#225&#180&#183&#225&#181&#137&#226&#129&#191&#226&#129&#191&#225&#181&#137&#203&#161 &#203&#161&#226&#129&#177&#225&#182&#156&#225&#181&#137&#226&#129&#191&#203&#162&#225&#181&#137:  ¹&#226&#129&#182¹&#226&#129&#176&#226&#129&#181 &#225&#180&#190&#225&#180&#188 &#225&#180&#174&#225&#181&#146&#203&#163 ³&#226&#129&#176¹ &#225&#181&#129&#202&#183&#225&#182&#156&#202&#176&#203&#161&#225&#181&#131&#226&#129&#191&#225&#181&#136, &#225&#180&#190&#225&#180&#172 ¹&#226&#129&#185&#226&#129&#180&#226&#129&#184&#226&#129&#176    &#225&#180&#183&#225&#181&#137 &#226&#129&#191&#226&#129&#191 &#225&#181&#137&#203&#161   &#203&#161 &#226&#129&#177 &#225&#182&#156&#225&#181&#137 &#226&#129&#191 &#203&#162&#225&#181&#137 :    ¹&#226&#129&#182¹&#226&#129&#176&#226&#129&#181 &#225&#180&#190&#225&#180&#188   &#225&#180&#174&#225&#181&#146&#203&#163  ³&#226&#129&#176¹ &#225&#181&#129 &#202&#183 &#225&#182&#156 &#202&#176 &#203&#161&#225&#181&#131 &#226&#129&#191 &#225&#181&#136 ,  &#225&#180&#190&#225&#180&#172  ¹&#226&#129&#185&#226&#129&#180&#226&#129&#184&#226&#129&#176   &#225&#180&#183&#225&#181&#137 &#226&#129&#191&#226&#129&#191 &#225&#181&#137&#203&#161   &#203&#161 &#226&#129&#177 &#225&#182&#156&#225&#181&#137 &#226&#129&#191 &#203&#162&#225&#181&#137 :    ¹&#226&#129&#182¹&#226&#129&#176&#226&#129&#181 &#225&#180&#190&#225&#180&#188   &#225&#180&#174&#225&#181&#146&#203&#163  ³&#226&#129&#176¹ &#225&#181&#129 &#202&#183 &#225&#182&#156 &#202&#176 &#203&#161&#225&#181&#131 &#226&#129&#191 &#225&#181&#136 ,  &#225&#180&#190&#225&#180&#172  ¹&#226&#129&#185&#226&#129&#180&#226&#129&#184&#226&#129&#176 May 3, 2024, 9:24 pm

Story
Dottie is 25.8 lbs of pure love and motion, though she is still just a baby at a little over 3 months old. We think she is a Pointer mix, so she will be a large dog. Despite her young age, she's already good at keeping her crate clean overnight, but will need patience and consistency to perfect her overall housebreaking skills. She has already grasped some important basic commands including sit, go to bed, leave it, and quiet.  One of a litter of six puppies born to a stray in MIssissippi, she’s currently being fostered with 2 of her littermates in Collingswood, NJ, which is where meet & greets will take place prior to adoption. Despite being the largest female, she is more timid and needs encouragement to try new things. She is very affectionate, loves to be held and petted.  Dottie is a total sweetheart, smart, curious, and playful. When she's not rough-housing with other dogs at her foster’s home, she's learning manners and impulse control. Like all puppies, she requires regular naps throughout the day, frequent potty breaks, 3 meals per day, and tons of love, affection and handling.  Her perfect family will have time to spend with Dottie playing, socializing and training her. A fur-sib and/or human children would be nice but not essential, as long as she gets plenty of daily exercise, contact and attention, she will blossom. Due to her energy level and eventual size, a fenced yard is required. Continued use of a crate until Dottie is completely housebroken and trust-worthy is absolutely essential.   DOB: 10-25-23  Weight: 25.8 lbs  Physical fence required  Exercise and activity needs: Moderate to high  Shedding amount: Moderate  Grooming needs: Low  Reaction to new people: Friendly, curious  Good with dogs  Good with cats  Good with people; supervise with young children   Please email us at AlmostHome4Dogs@yahoo.com for more info or an application. (Local adoptions preferred — Philadelphia and tri-state area [South Jersey and northern Delaware] only.) NOTE: Most puppies do best in the company of an older dog who can teach them "doggy manners," so homes with at least one other dog usually will be given preference in puppy adoptions. Please read Suzanne Clothier's wonderful article, "It Takes a Pack to Raise a Puppy!" PLEASE READ BEFORE CONTACTING US! We are NOT a shelter: All of our dogs live in private homes with foster families. Come and meet the Almost Home dogs and their fosters at our Meet & Greet events, where you can learn more about our wonderful dogs from the people who live with them, find out which dogs are on their way and when they’ll arrive, and fill out an application to adopt or foster. We cannot adopt to homes where electric-shock fencing systems or training collars are used. For more information on the dangers of electric-shock collars, please visit banshockcollars.ca/studies.php . We do not have an online adoption application; to request an application, e-mail us atAlmostHome4Dogs@yahoo.com. To speed e-mail processing time, be sure to note the name of the dog you are inquiring about in the Subject line. For Meet & Greet times and locations, visit our home page, where you also will find information on our adoption process and fees. FOSTER FAMILIES ARE LIFESAVERS!! Can you open your heart and home for a few weeks to homeless shelter dog? Remember, by fostering a dog, you save TWO lives — that of your foster dog, and that of the dog who takes his place in the shelter! Come to a Meet & Greet and find out if fostering is for you — there's no reward quite like the feeling that you've saved a life ... or two!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 30, 2024, 9:34 pm
