Hello, my name is: PostyApprox. DOB: 11/23/2024Weight: 32 lbsSex/Breed: Neutered male spaniel mixRescued From: Found strayPosty is a survivor. He spent at least a month on the streets on his own, finding shelter in a crawl space under a home. He would come and go, scrounging for food and water. Good Samaritans spotted him and called for help. His rescuers had to gain his trust – something he did not have for humans. He stayed out of reach, hiding when there was a lot of traffic in the neighborhood, only to emerge when he would be left alone. Except for the neighborhood mailman. Posty would follow him on his route, showing his deep desire to have a human companion. It took time, but a kind human was able to get close enough to him to slip a slip lead gently over his head and FINALLY, he was safe. This was just the beginning of Posty’s rescue journey. His foster family immediately went to work gaining his trust and making him comfortable. He is still a work in progress, but he has already begun to let his guard down. He’ll romp happily in the fenced backyard with his doggy pals, flop over for belly rubs from his foster humans, and smile the biggest, most relaxed smile. It warms our hearts to watch him enjoy himself as every dog should. Posty – named for his curiosity of the mailman – seems house trained, is crate trained, and is learning his manners. He is looking for a quiet home with a patient family to continue with the progress he has made. He will need a physically fenced in yard and a resident dog to learn from. With time, patience, and a ton of love, we have no doubt he will continue to blossom. Please help us find Posty the forever home he so desperately deserves!!
