Hello beautiful -- Introducing Lisa! Lisa is one of the sweet girls from our shelter pull this weekend. She was surrendered by her owner to Harris County, though we don’t know the reason why. We do know one thing though…this mama has clearly had puppies recently, but sadly they were not turned in with her.   Even though Lisa has only been with us a short time, she has already shown us just how gentle, calm, and loving she is. She’s the kind of dog who just melts into you. Lisa gets along well with other dogs and so far seems more like a laid back girl than a rough-and-tumble player, but as she settles in and gets more comfortable, we are already seeing her personality bloom. Watching her start wagging her tail and open up has been so special    We would absolutely love to get Lisa into a foster home soon so she can finally relax and know what it feels like to be truly loved. Story
Sweet Jasmine’s story is one we wish we didn’t hear so often. She found herself at Harris County Pets and landed on the long-stay list, where time was running out. We spotted her during a shelter pull, but with so many lives to save and not enough hours in the day, we had to leave without meeting her. We couldn’t stop thinking about Jasmine, so first thing Sunday morning, we went back. We hoped she’d be as wonderful as we imagined. To be sure, we introduced her to another dog we planned to save, and Jasmine passed with flying colors. No surprise there! Jasmine is a people girl through and through. Her favorite place is as close to you as possible, preferably curled up in your lap, soaking in all the love and attention. She has a gentle, affectionate nature that makes it easy to fall for her. Jasmine is dog-friendly and enjoys playtime, including with younger, high-energy dogs. She also loves cuddles and being close to her people. With her sweet, easygoing personality, she could be a wonderful fit for just about any loving home. She’s settling in beautifully, discovering the safety and kindness she deserves. QUEEN OF AFFECTION  DOB 11/1/24, weight 32 lbs. Meet Susie! If you’re looking for a dog who can keep up with your jogging and cuddle hard afterwards, Susie is your girl. She was found running loose in North Houston and was rescued by her foster mom — and she’s been soaking up the good life ever since. She’s athletic, fast, and obsessed with fetch and zoomies. Once she’s had her activity, Susie flips into full love-bug mode. She gives the sweetest kisses, loves snuggling on the couch, and will happily curl up next to you (or in your lap) like she belongs there. Susie is also smart and eager to learn, especially when cheese (or bully sticks) are involved. She knows Sit, is learning to wait for her release word at mealtime, and is working on leash walking, crate training, and kennel routines. Susie will do best with a dog-experienced adopter and a secure yard. She’d thrive with someone who enjoys daily walks or runs and wants a dog who’s always up for something fun. She also needs to be the only female dog in the home — she prefers to be the leading lady.
