Story
Fozzie is a handsome, goofy, and larger-than-life English Springer Spaniel puppy with endless enthusiasm and a personality to match! With his adorable brown spots over his eyes, mostly white coat, and constantly wagging tail, Fozzie is impossible not to smile at. He is looking for an active, breed-savvy home that understands the needs of a high-energy working dog and is excited to help him become the incredible companion he has the potential to be. 🤎
HISTORY
Fozzie was born on approximately March 14, 2026, and came to HART with 2 of his littermates at the beginning of July. Fozzie was surrendered to HART with 2 littermates due to landlord issues, and no fault of their own. He was primarily an outdoor puppy until he came to HART.
Fozzie is fostered in Tri-Cities, Eastern Washington. We share information about our dogs in postings based in other cities to improve their chances of finding a great forever home. He is well worth a road trip, and we encourage you to come and meet him before deciding if he is the right fit for your family!
SOCIALIZATION, TEMPERAMENT AND TRAINING
If you're looking for a calm couch potato... Fozzie isn't your guy!
Fozzie is every bit the energetic, intelligent, and busy English Springer Spaniel puppy those who know springers might warn your about. He is rambunctious, curious, playful, and always ready for his next adventure. As the biggest puppy in his group, he's full of confidence and loves to wrestle, romp, and explore everything around him.
He is incredibly people-oriented and eager to be involved in whatever you're doing, but like any young working breed, he needs both physical exercise and mental enrichment every single day. Without appropriate outlets, he'll happily invent his own entertainment, and you may not appreciate his ideas!
Fozzie would thrive with an active family who enjoys being active together outdoors, dog training, scent work, agility, hunting, or simply spending lots of time outdoors. His ideal adopter will appreciate the intelligence and drive that make English Springer Spaniels such wonderful working and sporting dogs. Because of his energy level, we are requiring a fully fenced yard where he can safely run and play. Apartments or homes without secure outdoor space are not a good fit for this busy boy.
Breed experience is strongly preferred.
Fozzie is not difficult, he's just a Springer puppy with energy to burn and a brain that needs to be challenged. He needs someone who understands that working breeds require structure, consistency, training, and enrichment in order to thrive.
Fozzie is still learning all of his puppy manners and will benefit greatly from positive reinforcement training classes. He is exceptionally smart and eager to learn, making him an excellent candidate for continued training with someone willing to invest the time.
It's important to remember: Fozzie is a puppy, and PUPPIES ARE HARD WORK! He still has sharp little teeth, boundless energy, selective hearing, and absolutely no concept of personal space. He will likely steal a sock, chew something valuable, zoom through the house at top speed, and occasionally forget where he's supposed to potty. That's simply part of raising a puppy!
Please do not apply to adopt Fozzie unless you're prepared to commit the time, patience, consistency, and training necessary to help him grow into the wonderful adult dog he's capable of becoming.
