Story
* May do best in a home with another dog* May need a special dietMeet Ruby, an endearing eight-year-old, 35 pound female Standard Schnauzer awaiting her forever home at National Mill Dog Rescue. Ruby is a sweet and charming companion with a special personality that sets her apart. This seasoned canine expertly walks on a leash, showcasing her well-mannered nature. Ruby's curiosity about other dogs and her surroundings is tempered, allowing her to coexist harmoniously with many canine friends. Recently, she has taken the initiative to engage in play with her furry companions, revealing a playful side.Ruby's affectionate demeanor extends to humans, as she graciously approaches for treats and enjoys moments of quiet downtime. Described as an introvert, she finds joy in both playtime and serene moments by your side. Her unique coloring is a reflection of her special personality, making her a one-of-a-kind companion. With her adaptable and gentle nature, Ruby is ready to bring joy and warmth to a loving home. She patiently awaits her chance to be adopted at National Mill Dog Rescue, where she dreams of finding a family that appreciates her unique charm and shares in her love for walks and quiet companionship.- - - - - -Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have experienced minimal socialization. As a result, there is often an adjustment period when learning about life as a family pet. We typically do not adopt to homes with young children. Homes with older children will be considered on an individual basis. Common skills such as house training and leash walking will often take extra time. Patience, understanding and a gentle hand are a must. The great news is, many of these dogs come around with patience and being a part of their rehabilitation is an extremely rewarding experience. Please contact Constance (connibouchard@gmail.com) for more information about this pet.Rescued dogBiographyImportant InformationPlease read!If you are interested in me after reading about me, please visit my site, http://www.breederadoptions.org and follow the instructions. The majority of the dogs we rescue, mostly breeder dogs, have lived their entire lives in less-than-ideal conditions so will need to be socialized, house and leash trained. Most have never lived in a house, walked on a leash, had a treat or sat in a lap. For many of them, their feet have never touched the ground after living for years on wire until they arrive at our main facility where they are evaluated, groomed and given vet care. Most of these dogs are not socialized and need to be cornered to be picked up, so are not suitable for people with physical disabilities or suffer from PTSD. They need folks who will make them the center of their world and help them learn to trust before even attempting to train. Please do not apply if you do not meet the requirements of the dogs we rescue. However, they will learn with time, love, patience and most of all, commitment. You must have an ample supply of all of these to reap the rewards of watching these very special dogs become your wonderful companion. We state any known health issues, all are altered unless there is a medical reason not to, which we will advise, any known medical issues addressed, are microchipped, are UTD on all vaccines and have been checked out by at least one veterinarian, usually two. We do not guarantee the health of any of our rescued dogs. The dogs we rescue have lived with other dogs all of their lives and most get along with other dogs. We state if they are dog aggressive. We require a permanent, full-time parent. That means you must be able to spend the majority of your time with your new companion to socialize and train. We do not, under any circumstances, place them in homes with young children as they have not been exposed to children and we do not know how they will react. Please do not waste your time or ours if you are not prepared to adopt within 2 weeks and you are not willing to pick the dog up at its location.Hi! My name is Katie, and I am a beautiful Schnauzer girl who is 7 years old, and I weigh 14.4 pounds. I am just learning about this big new world so a sibling to help me learn the ropes would be ideal. I need a permanent, full time parent, please.
