Story
Hi there! My name is Hendrix & I am just the silliest, goofiest boy, with so much personality! I'm a 3 year old, 12lb silky terrier, who is looking for my new BEST friend!
Let me start off with saying I’ll need a home without young humans.. I actually quite like them, but my terrier personality comes out at times, and that’s best suited for experienced dog owners & adult humans. I would also enjoy a home without another dog companion, unless they’re very submissive; I can be very bossy. I would definitely need to sniff noses before moving in together.
Now to the good stuff… I LOVE to play. Sometimes my urge to play is so overwhelming that I get the trembles, but it can be quickly satisfied with a game of tug of war. I also enjoy playing fetch and accomplishing new treat puzzles. After some good play time, I enjoy cuddling up with my human & my teddy bear.
I’ve got a doggy-vocabulary full of the funniest noises — like your very own odd little sound box. One of my favorite ways to communicate is by low growls, but rest assured, it’s just my way of telling you I’m content. Also, about those trembles I mentioned? They’re often accompanied by pleading whines to play, which my foster mom tells me are the cutest noises ever!
I’ve been to a few fosters so far & I settle in VERY quickly! I’ve been pretty friendly with everyone; however, I like to choose ‘my person’ and once I do, I will quickly take my place as their protector. Because I really want to protect my special person, and I seem to have some anxiety about the danger they might be in sometimes, RCHS has started me on some calming medication to help me relax. I’ll likely need to be on this medication long-term, but it doesn’t slow me down – hurry up, throw that ball!!!
If you’re looking for a rambunctious buddy who makes a wonderful cuddling partner, you’ve met your guy! Apply today & let’s meet!
